Following the death of Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the National Leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti who was attacked by suspected armed kidnappers on Friday afternoon along Benin-Ore Ijebu-ode road, a video has resurfaced online of a man narrating his experience with the said gunmen few days ago along the same road.

The man narrated how a mobile policeman who's an escort foiled the attack by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The Police officer who foiled the attack, narrated how the herdsmen on seeing incoming vehicles, jumped out from the bush and started firing without control at them.

When the gunshots became too much, he targeted one of them from the car he was escorting and fired at him, hence others fled.

Ovation Boss/Journalist, Dele Momodu reposted the video on his Instagram page and expressed displeasure on what the state of the nation is.

Despite the fact that the video went viral on social media, the gunmen resurfaced again and this time killing the 58-year old daughter of Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

Coming to the matter at hand, some claimed Funke Olakunrin was assassinated but following the narration of the video, there is a contrary view of her attack.

You know there was a time before the election, a truck loaded with pump actions and other sophisticated weapons were intercepted by the customs. I just hope they hadn't released it to those terrorists.

Those travelling are not even safe, they can block the high way and shoot aside anyhow on commuters. There is insecurity in the country.

Back then when I used to travel, when we had a stop at ore, I would look for a better side to stay in case any terrorists or gunmen should come, I would escape immediately.

It is possible the guns were released to the terrorists or it's likely the one billion dollars for arms were given to the herdsmen. Who knows?

Now that the location of the terrorists are known in Ondo state, OPC should take action swiftly and not wait for the Nigerian army or police.
