As the witnesses they had lined up refuse to testify in APC’s favour insisting the elections in Akwa Ibom State were free, credible, transparent and fair and that the PDP won the elections free and square; and alarmed that their case at the tribunal is falling apart, the APC in a futile last-ditch efforts have decided to lobby the President of the Court of Appeal and Chief Justice of Nigeria, using a non-existent and unsubstantiated bogeyman involving a female judge at the tribunal.

According to credible sources, the APC chieftains left Uyo to Abuja today (July 14, 2019) at 4pm to specifically lobby the President of the Court of Appeal and the Chief Justice of Nigeria on the what they believe is their last-ditched efforts to affect the outcome of an already flawed case.

The elections in Akwa Ibom State were universally celebrated as the prime example of how to conduct free and credible elections under a hostile atmosphere. The International Observers celebrated the elections in the State and told the world the exercise was free and fair. The Police Commissioner in charge of the elections in the State, Ibrahim Kaoje in his report said the elections were credible, free and transparent. Several prominent Nigerians including APC Governors like Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and other major players across Nigerian political divides have since congratulated Governor Udom Emmanuel and lauded the INEC for conducting a free and credible elections in the State.

“What they APC is doing is simply grasping at straws, their witnesses have refused to testify, insisting the PDP won the elections free and square. Traveling to Abuja to see the President of the Court of Appeal; or the Chief Justice of the Nigeria, will not affect the outcome of the elections, because the learned gentleman they are planning to see always base their decisions on facts and the facts of the case do not favour the APC. Even a layman or woman will understand that their case is flawed. PDP won the State fair and square, fair and square” a source who is privy to the plans of the APC had told our reporter.

Akwa Ibom is a south south state. Which is known to be a PDP stronghold, that Akpabio ditched PDP for APC for personal reasons, shouldn't make it a so or die affair..

Lobbying appeal court judge(s) can only be an attempt to pervert justice, but in Nigeria even the media have begun to normalize it.

From corruption in high and low places, widespread poverty, terrorism, diseducation, poor healthcare and shambolic infrastructure, to the recent upsurge in violent crimes like mass killings and highway kidnapping, and the resulting citizens' mechanisms of coping with these never-ending problems, like internet fraud, violence, talentless music, rampant prostitution, ritual killing for money, suicide etc, it's not difficult to see, though difficult to admit, that Nigeria is doomed.
