The National Executive Council of Owo Local Government Area Students' Union, OLGASU, and Principal Officers of the Union Parliament today played host to the leadership of Kingdom Hearts Initiative at the union secretariat.

National President, Kingdom Hearts Initiative, Comrade Awoyo Desmond who led the team to the National Secretariat said the association is at the secretariat to get a feedback on the plans towards the annual summer coaching, which is the major forum where students at the elementary and secondary levels benefit from OLGASU.

The National president, Akogun Bamido Oluwadamilola, who appreciated the contributions of some notable and industrious sons and daughters of Owo Kingdom to the progress of the union listed them to include Hon. Ogunmolasuyin Oluwole WEST, Mrs iyabode Adene (Mama Olgasu), Hon Rimi, Dr Adeyemi Olayemi KOKO, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo, Hon. Fatai Lawal, Chief Olayide Adelami, among others.

The President said the union will be eternally grateful to Dr Abiola Oshodi, who everyone in the community now call the "Students' Messiah" due to his assistance in the payment of school fees for several students after the hike in tuition fees across state owned tertiary institutions, which would have kept many students out of school. He added that Dr Oshodi also donated a bus to the Union to ease transportation.

Many students, including the Speaker of the Union's National Representative Council, Rt Hon. Owasanoye Oluwadamila, who testified to the kind gestures of Dr Oshodi said apart from paying the tuition fee of some students, the Canada based medical practitioner also gave scholarship to several others.

The students leaders, in appreciating Dr Oshodi for his contribution to education in the kingdom promised to have a Walk for him during the Union's national week.

The president, while speaking on challenges confronting the union, appealed to well-meaning individuals in the community to come to its aid in organising a befitting summer coaching, which is going to come up the 1st week of August - - 2nd week September

The Speaker of the Union Parliament who said the association needs about #200,000 for the summer coaching broke the expenditure down to include (i) #80, 000 for 8 tutors
(ii) Incentives for all students that will attend the coaching at a total of #70,000 and
(iii) Prizes for the best students across all the classes.

The President appreciated Comrade Awoyo for the visit and said the union looks forward to partnering his association for a successful summer coaching.
