So MURIC has cooked up another garbage again after the BBN ban issue? They really are very eager to package their dusbins to the world!
Let MURIC know that Christians are never in support of any Islamic organization, either left sided or right sided. BECAUSE WHEN WE ARE BEING KILLED, NEITHER OF WHICH WILL BE THERE FOR US. For example, has MURIC or SHI'ITES IMN ever prevented the killing of Christians in any part of Nigeria?
What matters is that we Christians all stand on the path of human rights, whomever is affected.

It's not surprising that sunni groups will support any move to crush the growth of Shia muslims in northern Nigeria.
A sunni organization like MURIC that sees nothing wrong in the massacre of close to 1000 shiite muslims in Kaduna, will see nothing wrong in proscription of IMN by a sunni led govt.

IMN is the largest shiite umbrella in the north and the face of Shia. With ever growing followers, sunni muslims will do anything to stiffle their growth, like arresting and detaining shia leaders indefinitely without any recouse to rule of law.
Yet 99% of terrorist groups on earth from ISIS, boko haram, Alshabab, fulani terrorist militia/Miyeti allah, Alqeida, supporter of APC, etc are all sunnis.
You're so so on point. one love

Taqiyya at its peak. Why do muslims always blame everyone else for their woes. They sure love to attack other Faith's while playing the victim. This MURIC chairman is very divisive. Did the Christians fan the Shia/Sunni animosity in Iraq,Syria, etc? Between Iran and Saudi Arabia? The Shia/Sunni battle is an eternal thing unless you want to take away prophet Muhammad's companions versus All and Imam Hussaini ; Al Khati and Sahih Buhari from the two Islamic sources. Oga Akintola you donot proscribe then negotiate. A couple in marraige doesn't get a divorce and then starts discussing how to live amicably. Proscription like divorce is the most subtle, civil act of war, of violence anyone can imagine. It means all channels of discourse are closed and the other party is persona non grata. It is symptomatic of the breakdown and failure of communication.

What we keep on asking in this country is: WHY IS IT SO HARD, SO DIFFICULT FOR GOVERNMENT TO BRING ITSELF TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE PEOPLES OF THIS COUNTRY.

In other climes constant negotiations are done between government and people on a wide range of issues. It is the basis for tje famed 'State of the Nation'. Why is our government so intolerant of its citizens which have a contrary view to the interests of a few. From the Niger Delta issue, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, the herdsmen/settlers conflicts even Minimum wage.

Government always looks at citizens fighting for one right or the other as dissidents and criminals. This is not so. What this government and most before don't realise is that stamping out dissent is not a sign of strength but a sign of FEAR, of weakness. The greatest nations on earth there was and will ever be are those where universal liberties are upheld.

Nigeria will have developed a lot faster and gone far ahead of where we are if we had a series of governments that acted as responsible fathers who bring the kids together and keep them all happy. Not playing one against the other, not loving oone over the other but ensuring all of them grow and develop individually and collectively to their maximum capacities. Just one example.

If at the outset of this fulani menace the government had brought all parties together, reprimanded the offenders and empathised with the victims round a table, wounds will have healed, suspicions abated and possibly settlements allowed after all sides will have given something, sacrificed something. But this government kept quiet, shielded the wrongdoers and tried to impose on the victims, blaming them for their misery and getting upset at their resistance. Which father does that.

Nigeria is just a step away from peace and developmemt if it can just unlock fhe door of social justice. But as long as it continues to pursue and support the intersts of a few against the desires of the many, we will NEVER DEVELOP AS A NATION.

We have to sit down and negotiate the way we wish to live together as a peoples of this nation. The process of finding common ground where everyone sacrifices something to ensure justice, equity and peace so that we can speak one language of values is called RESTRUCTURING that I have always and will always advocate. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ALTERNATIVE.

Mumuric evidently is the Religious Arm of APC.

Their statement is like CAN saying allow Federal Government to handle PFN.

What I actually see is Sunni Muslims telling the Sunni's Political Elite to handle the Shiites Extremists.

Lord Lugard must be laughing his ass off in his new reincarnated body.

Akintola appears intimidated. He cannot go against Buhari.

Look at him condemning Kaduna State for proscribing the IMN, in 2016:

MURIC Blasts Kaduna Government For Labelling Shiite IMN “insurgent Group”

Kaduna State Government yesterday declared the embattled Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) an insurgent group.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) rejects this new label for an otherwise pacific organization. The new declaration is nothing short of calling a dog a bad name in other to hang it. Kaduna State government is being economical with the truth, killing a fly with a sledge hammer and engaging in executive tyranny.

This is a very dangerous dimension. Coming shortly after a competent court of law ordered the release of the IMN leader, Shaykh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky from detention, this stigmatization is just another attempt by the state government to jump the gun. The declaration is short in equity, long in injustice. But we must remember Martin Luther’s warning that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Kaduna government is pregnant with ingredients of all the five evils which Chamberlain spoke about, viz, brute force, bad faith, injustice, oppression and persecution. Why is it that the only thing men learn from history is that they learn nothing from history? Kaduna has not learnt anything from the Boko Haram phenomenon. Kaduna has chosen to prove both Hegel and Karl Marx right in their postulate that history always repeats itself.

MURIC is however constrained to remind all stakeholders of the divine warning contained in Qur’an 8:25 “Fear a tumult which will affect those who caused it as well as the innocent ones”. Was this not how Boko Haram started? Police brutality and extra-judicial killing of the group’s leader caused its metamorphosis into a terror machine. But is it the police alone that are facing the consequences today?

MURIC calls on well-meaning Nigerians to speak out. It was the great Shaykh Uthman Bin Fudi (Uthman Dan Fodio) who said, “In an unjust society, silence is a crime…” Let us speak up now before it is too late.

But members of the IMN also need to do some self-assessment. Something must be wrong with a system against which so many neighbours testify. Several people (including Muslims) confirm that they had had bitter encounters with members of the IMN. They complain about the group’s open display of arrogance. All those people could not have been lying. Something must be wrong with a doctrine which embarrasses the rest of The Muslim Ummah and from which they dissociate themselves.

We commend the leadership of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) for its efforts in resolving the IMN debacle and the maturity it has manifested in handling the matter. Due to the sensitive nature of the issue, NSCIA has engaged in quiet diplomatic shuttling between governments and the IMN from the beginning. We urge the NSCIA to continue the dialogue.

In conclusion, we appeal to the Kaduna State government to de-label IMN and begin a process of reconciliation and reorientation for its members. That is the path of visionary leadership and responsible governance. It is the path of peace. On its own part, IMN must improve its relationship with other Islamic organizations.

To prove that their ideologies differ & no human or system in recent history is to blame for such division, and apathy. And yes i do know what taqiyya means.
