CORRUPTION APOSTLE

The level of corruption, nepotism, and monumental fraud existing in the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) under the leadership of Dr Babatunde Fowler would easily pass for the 9th wonder of the world and recorded in the World’s Guinness book of record if petitions seen by this newspaper is anything to go by.

Document available to SecretReporters revealed that perhaps determined to use his office and relationship with the Vice President to loot the Service dry, Babatunde Fowler allegedly carries out massive extortion on major construction companies and other multinational companies running into Billions of Naira in the guise of payment of tax refunds.

This practice by the tax collector according to reports has left these companies in a hypocritical state as they are forced to continue to satisfy his gluttonous desire or risk not getting anymore contracts from him and his cohorts.

Sources within the Service squealed to SecretReporters that these funds gotten from his extortion spree amounting to more than...

These money that are being "extorted" from construction companies, are they being paid into private purse or govt's purse? If the construction companies feel they are being extorted, why don't they take the govt to court for redress? Please don't cry more than the bereaved.

When illiterates run a blog.
Tax is not extortion. It is good news if Fowler forced erring companies to pay their
fair share of tax.

It is even funny that construction companies are afraid of Fowler when FIRS has nothing
to do with major contracts award.

Even if it is being paid into govt purse, it is still extortion, if companies are incorrectly assessed and overbilled under the guise of tax and penalties. sad

A friend of mine opened a restaurant in Lekki.

After 2 months operation, she was asked to pay 8 million. For what? Meanwhile the entire rent of the building plus all the furniture, fixtures and fittings were not up to 2 million. She was even yet to break even, and she was given a bill of 8 million. How??

She almost collapsed. And these tax officials are so hostile and blatantly rude. undecided They were not even interested in listening to her. They told her to even go and pay first, before lodging any complaint.

Tell me, what kind of tax collection is that?? shocked

It doesn't matter what kind of money is involved.
All we need to see is evidence that it is going to a private pocket
and such forwarded to the EFCC.
If not, then this article is nothing but propaganda.
