mechie eze ure!!! Stop lying bro. Lagos is top in terms of federal allocations. Then federal presence is highest. Lagos is one of the mistaking Nigerians is sitting on and making repeatedly. Lagos needs to be decongest in all aspect. Then others states will develop to their maximum pontential. America with 50 states and each state needs each other to survive. Lagos needs no states or no one, but all states including FCT and everyone in the country needs Lagos to survive. How is that a kudos to the cou3

Nope, it’s not...
Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states all receive HIGHER allocations than Lagos.

Lagos relies on IGR for over 80% of its budget...
And reason Lagos is “congested” is people (Nigerians and non-Nigerians) “voting” with their feet and wallets.

Again, not true...

Apart from the ports, there’s no substantial “federal presence” (or assets) in Lagos...
You could add the MM Airport as well, but there are 22 federal airports across Nigeria.

@Bridget95,that's a lame excuse and a very weak argument that can't fly in the cloud of popular reasoning.
The capital was taken away from Lagos in 1992.And the federal government has all but abandoned Lagos.
The prosperity of Lagos stems from ,one its coastal riches, just like London, Rotterdam, Tokyo, New York etc. Two,sea ports open up business activities and investors leverage on this. So, what's up with you?
I laugh hysterically when some past governor irresponsibly claimed that his kinsmen developed Lagos.Yes,they contributed their bits, but not on a mass scale as we see it today. Because Lagos has become a sort of melting pot for various nationalities and peoples.
Have you ever wondered why Delta,Akwa ibom, cross river and Beyelsa don't have FG built sea ports,International airport, diplomatic missions etc

Imagine building similar terminals in major places in Lagos(berger etc), At least we will rest from danfo drivers insanities.

Also, I hope this terminal won't be dominated by hoodlums who will start sleeping in and out of the terminal turning it to their room & parlour.

@Bridget95,you answer the question u posed tome.I just reeled out strong reasons why Lagos has towered above other states.
The question u asked is similar to asking why the Midland states of England have not prospered like the coastal state of London.
These states can work their way up all they like, but I don't see them catching up with Lagos, not even in light years.Because Lagos remains a very strong attraction for investors. 98% of Nigeria's investments and FDIs go to Lagos.

All of the above makes Lagos what it is today. There are things going on behind the scene.

More

Very good development. However, I noticed two areas that require improvements.

1.Ticket queue (Pic 1) - In as much as this development will create jobs for Lagosians, it should also provide ease and quick service. Self service ticket machines should be made available. You should be able to buy your ticket within 40 secs. Select your destination, select single or return ticket, confirm your selection , pay with your card, print your ticket and go to the departing terminal.

2. Wait time - (Pic 2): The maximum wait time should not be more than 5 mins during peak periods and less than 10 mins during off peak periods. Lagos is a fast city and people want to go about there businesses as quickly as possible. Pic 2 looks more of an airport terminal than a bus terminal.

Peak Period - 7am - 9am and 5pm - 7pm
Off peak Period - Any time before and after peak periods and should cost 10% less to encourage more people to travel at this time.

It should not take more than 6 mins from the moment you walk into the terminal and departure.

Still more work to be done but overall, good development.
