(1) Sowore continues to display infantile politics, masquerading as populist activism, the stuff of students union politics.
He once disrupt a press conference by a government minister in the US sometimes ago …his verbal tirades at Oni of Ife’s palace, He lacks schooling in progressive activism.

(2) To ever publicly demand revolution against an elected government by anybody, group or entity is itself a treasonable offence. With #RevolutionNow, Sowore many knew that he was playing with fire.

The DSS is an intelligence gathering security agency, they act based on privileged security Intels, so if they choose to go after a treasonous fellow is a gestapo like manner, it is left to them to help us curb another odious security threat in its embryo.

Free protest is different from calling for revolution, Sowore went above the board. The unimaginable suicide threat is the most inciting, and public peace is supreme.

(3) Sowore should have use the word protest rather than revolution, he should have engineered and tailored his plans very well..And it is felubrate and tactless… an interviewer once asked Sowore, she said sir, do u mean protest or revolution and he replied in a loud voice revolution, and the interviewer asked him again don’t u think u might be trying to truncate of our democracy and he said I don’t care.. His versatility is impressive, but his political approach is zero..

(4). Sowore should not be organising a street revolution after attempting a ‘revolution’ at the ballot by contesting the 2019 presidential election. If he believes in democratic change of political leadership, he should stick to that paradigm. Change by any means is a dangerous precept.

So the whole noise is that used the wrong word for his protest? Has government now been reduced to people who check grammar?

If Government is rushing to arrest Sowore for using the word 'revolution' why isnt government acting much faster about people being slaughtered daily

5 Things That Might Happen If Sowore's Revolution Now Starts

From a careful analysis of revolutions, here are some things that may happen if Omoleye Sowore’s #RevolutionNow starts:

1. Foreigners may leave the country. Western capitals might issue negative travel advisory against Nigeria. Consequently, tourists and investors might leave in droves or cancel trips.

2. The price of crude oil might sky rocket but Nigeria might not benefit. Nigeria is one of the major exporters if crude oil. So, any instability in Nigeria is bound to send shockwaves to the global economy. Nigeria might not benefit financially from such rise in oil prices if the revolution affects its ability to drill/export crude oil.

3. The international media will beam its searchlight on Nigeria in negative light (why not news that Nigeria has started an alternative to android, or successfully sent an astronaut to the moon!?). The Federal Government might respond by hiring social media influencers to tell its own side of the story. At the end of the day, the whole back and forth might just be Nigeria washing its dirty linen in public.

4. Banks, schools and offices might remain closed, disrupting the everyday flow of activities.

5. Food prices might rise, leading to hunger.

In consideration of all these unpalatable possibilities, we advice the Federal Government to Immediately constitute a
high-powered delegation
to hear Omoleye Sowore out. They should also immediately implement at least some of his group’s demands.

OP is stuck in the semantics.

There are various ways in which to change social order and revolution as one of the ways is as valid a legitimate path as is electoral process of change. Even a coup is also a change in social order. We had a change in social order in the coups of 66. We had a change in social order in the war of 67-70. We had a change in social order when Obasanjo handed over to civilians in 1979 and refused to go back to the Parliament System but instead adopted Democracy. We had a change in social order when NADECO forced the government to concede grounds and returned us to Democracy in 1999.

The Americans had a change of social order when they refused to adopt monarchy and instead invented their Republican Democracy. They had a change in social order which through social unrest culminated in breakthrough policies now called Civil Rights Act.

So do us favor and re-evaluate the goal objective of #revolutionnow. Focus on that message, not its messenger.

Said it before and will say it again you can tag a protest revolution now and expect any reasonable thing from it apart from violence. To me it’s all about clout chasing and politics cause for a revolution to start it should be something to start first from people’s minds and not just waking up and realizing it’s time to lead a revolution starting with a protest without proper and adequate sensitization/education to the public . It’s difficult to achieve that starting with a protest

Just so you know...

Sowore declared his intention to contest for presidency...
Sowore rejected every coalition that could possibly unseat the disastrous ruling party...
Sowore spent more time attacking the candidacy and personality of the ruling party's strongest opposition than making his manifestos known....
Sowore was confident of winning the presidential election though he didn't ensure he had party agents in majority of the poling units...
Sowore lost election and hibernated in a hurry...
Sowore want to lead a revolution just after the release of ministerial list...

Tagging it a revolution maybe unwise but truth is Nigerians need to protest against the government in power; unemployment and insecurity is on the high, useless and unproductive policies dished out every now and then, "a fulanized nepotism.
I pray the turn out is encouraging just to let the government know Nigerians are unhappy.

There is nothing wrong with calling it revolution.

If Arewa Youths called for revolution do you think it will be censored? No.

Why are Southerners trying to censor their own voice?

A popular young man on this forum (NwamaIkpe) has said it all.
We concur absolutely with his post below.

That sums up EVERYTHING about this revolution matter.
Nothing more to be added or remove!

Ehya. This has always been my moniker since I opened Nairaland. And for your info, I am Yoruba. The wolesmile is a combination of Yoruba name and Islamic name.

Like you, I eat SUYA wella, but I never sell am before.
