Sowore's Detention And Morality. by archangel1(m): 12:30pm On Aug 05, 2019
"A thief loathes being stolen from, more than the innocent owner"

The above perfectly captured the moral angle of Sowere's arrest by Buhari government. Since news of this arrest filtered in, many citizens decided to dig in to the political past of our president over the years. Despite the unfolding controversies; the myriads of justification of such action from the presidency and counter justification from critics, one thing remains latently clear: where does president Buhari derives the moral fibre to arrest Sowore through DSS. So our DSS where all that smart and discerning to this point and up til this moment they have not gathered enough intelligence and tactics to help our helpless military counter avalanche of terrorism bedeviling Nigeria from different quarters.

Whenever one makes a throw back, one will continue to ask; to what extent was the overthrowing of Shagari's government justified? Every damn excuses and indices given then to justify the illegitimate act are very palpable today. They all repeating themselves today. The same way many were calling for change of government then; the same way many where criticising the numerous government policies and counter measures then; the same way government was not listening to credible counsel then; the same way miscellany of violence were looming the nooks and crannies of the nation then; are all today reoccurring.

While democratically, one may not support Sowore and company for what they termed '#Revolutiontoday', perhaps, what might had pushed a breed of young military officers of which a sitting president was the head thirty something years ago to overthrow a democratically elected government without a legitimate plebiscite, may be the same pushing another breed of young revolutionaries called #Revolutiontoday in this dispensation. what is the difference? Is it because the latter does not have access to armoury?
Toady, the social media is inundated with a call for revolution; citing specifically, the Egypt episode, to the Nigerian youths which was made by somebody in 2011 during Jonathan's administration. Perhaps, such citizen was not arrested as we saw today.

In addition, it is no longer news that Buhari participated actively during a street protests with some APC leaders in FCT in 2014 and nobody was arrested.

Whether the government like it or not, there is high level of insecurity in the land. And this may spring up anything like protests from the citizens. It beats my imagination that government of today is not so bothered about understudying why some citizens are beginning to summon the gut to protest rather they are appropriating enough energy to how to defend government actions and inactions.

My simple point remains where does Buhari's administration derive the moral will to block any non violent revolution in Nigeria taking in to cognisance his political past? Is like am seeing karma coming back to a person who once murdered sleep in Nigeria's Democratic history. And such term like Revolution has become nauseating and intolerable to such personality.

The truth is, 'one day monkey go go market, I no go return'. Human patience can never remain static,it must surely be exhausted if bad situations get worse.
