They no longer waste much of their time on natural birthing, its straight up CS 250k-300k.

The same thing happened with my daughter here. ...https://www.nairaland.com/5313377/babys-transformation#80481727

When dem give me bill I gentle.

why not sue them for forcing you to deliver through a CS?

wait....did they really force you?

Thank God for you and your daughter though.

What the lady said is the simple truth, in nyanya general hospital Abuja out of 50 women that visit the to give birth 30 of them give birth through CS . There was a case were the woman went to nyanya general hospital after giving birth to 4 of her children the fifth child the hospital insist that CS most be carried out on the woman the husband refuse and the hospital told them to go elsewhere just as they were living the hospital the baby started coming out on his own right in front of the hospital. Nyanya general hospital is guilty of this forced CS

Though am not a doctor but for the fact that I work in teaching hospital and clinical services unit for that matter, I cover most meeting fine by Chairman MAC, it is a lie from pit of hell. Why we usually have CS is when the baby is bridge, heart rate not abnormal, mother's cervix not favourable, two previous CS and so on, please I advice you register at good hospital which has experts to avoid story that touch the heart because it is better to have mother and baby doing well than to scramble to save the mother.

And wat will u say about those that reject CS and goes to another hospital and end giving birth naturally? If u don't know, you don't know!
You made a good point but still doesn't erase the fact that some hospitals force CS to make money.

This is how the misinform the public.

Let me share my experience as a doctor to help enlighten women here

A patient of mine with twin gestation and the leading twing was breech (coming out with the buttocks) was adivce for csection.

She refused. She said she can never have her first delivery through operation.

When labor started, she visited traditional birth attendants and boom after delivery of the feet and both and the hands, the head got stucked grin

Then tried everything possible for another 24 hours and yet the head could not come out.

Thereafter she came back to the hospital and I did a csection for her. The head was decapitated and the second twin was already dead.

So, u see, doctors request for surgery not only because u cannot pull through but when they feel there is risk of losing the baby (something called fetal distress)

I feel sorry for those who choose to listen to market women talk.

No one is saying CS is not good. But some hospitals make it 90% of their deliveries because its more profitable for them

ignorance at it's peak.

no doctor will ever recommend CS unless it is absolutely necessary. most women who opt for elective CS are educated about the implications and the risks involved should things go awry.

That Sacrilegious purposefully CS on a Healthy Woman that can do normal Virginia delivery is trending in so many Hospitals in Aba, Abia State. I have witnessed a scenario where a Lady giving birth to her second child was asked for CS. She debunked the proscription and went to another hospital and delivered safely on her own. Many Drs and considering the benefits involved in CS more than their professional training.

Thank God you can admit to this.

Truth is for every one person who thinks they were exploited to get a CS for the extra pay, there are several more who with the benefit of hindsight would have gladly accepted the advice of going for that CS. many have lost babies, wives sometimes both because they simply thought they were being exploited or because it was the wish of their enemies upon them. if you can afford it, it's not the worst thing to happen to anyone.

Also another advice one can give pregnant women during the antenatal period/process is to have two or three different credible hospitals/specialist who would do their regular checkups and give adequate advice as at when due. when they all advice steongly for a CS you can be rest assured you best interest is what they are in for and not your finance.

The lady is not lying I know of one small hospital in my locality the only way most women give birth in that hospital is through c.section but presently go and check out that same doctor he has relocated the hospital to a permanent site,a magnificent building for that matter,
There is more cash making in c-section!

Lady accuses hospitals of turning C-Section to a profit making venture, gets lambasted.

A lady on Twitter that goes by the name Lolo Cynthia has accused medical doctors and hospitals of deliberately carrying out Cesarean section on women for the purpose of making more money. She said she got this information from local market women who told her they prefer visiting traditional birth attendants (TBAs) because they found out that the general and private hospitals around them deliberately carryout operation on them to deliver their babies so as to make money.

Contrary to the thumps up she expected, many Twitter users lambasted her for generalizing from questionable sources. Others accused her of been a “Hebrew Women Crusader” and a contributor for Nigeria’s maternal mortality records.

Why are hospitals making pregnant women give birth through CS even when they don’t need it?? Speaking to local women at Ikorodu and I keep hearing that many of them are going to traditional birth attendants because the Government hospitals keep saying they need CS.

It’s more expensive and the women complain that they don’t even wait for them to have contractions… It’s straight to CS. This costs 100k plus and many cannot afford it!! I have heard of this in the private hospitals as well.. Is this a way to extort money from people?

There is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING EXTRA, that a doctor in a GOVERNMENT hospital stand to gain from recommending an unnecessary Caesarean Section for women who do not need it.
If this was a private practice setting, you could argue that they want money for their pockets, but not in a government hospital. Let him/her do 15 Caesarean Sections in a day, the take home is still the same at the end of the month.

. It is shocking that many private hospitals in Nigeria prefer CS to natural birth in order to make more money. They are heartless .There was a case of a doctor who delivered a woman of a baby only to be sacked on the following day.His offence? The woman was scheduled for a CS before he resumed duty. The sacked doctor believed CS was not necessary. The management wondered how it would get money to pay salary if others in the hospital were doing that. This is Nigeria for you where there is no fear of God despite the fact that churches and mosques are increasing every day....Any body who makes money at the expense of people's life will not reap the fruit of his labour.

Visit your TBA and when complications arise, they will just carry your dead body dead on arrival and dump in the hospital, then the morgue. Poverty of the mind is the root of all evil.
