Thier involvement and intervention in internal security matters hasn't been helpful in anyway. It only results in more bloodshed

Inasmuch as this avoidable loss is very unfortunate and irreparable for the families concerned and moreso the Nigerian security circle especially at this time when we're facing unprecedented and multi-faceted security challenges, which makes it the worst time to lose our best hands and at our own hands in such a tragic manner, the following points need to be made.
1. Our security forces are too itchy fingered. I doubt there's any country in the world whose security open fire at the slightest nudge like Nigeria. From protests to dissent, any confrontation with our security forces be it police or army is always met with brute force with no restraint.
2. Nigeria is militarised. In the US, the military is not even allowed to combat internal security issues. Here, we have military ops in 26 out of 36 states. This makes our society a testing ground for shootings and a killing field where no one is immune to the trigger.
3. Our NSA is more of a political office than an operational one. That's why we can have an ongoing covert operation and the active military personnel in the area are not aware. The ONSA in Nigeria has been so bastardised it only exists to serve the president's whims and not coordinate the affairs of security agencies. I believe this is why our security challenges continue to mount and fester. The ONSA is simply not effective.
4. Human lives are cheap in Nigeria. Maybe because of our high population, but you see people die in Nigeria in a most avoidable manner.
5. Our security agencies all need proper orientation on rules of engagement for each situations they find themselves. They have come to believe in the rifle more than their senses in The course of duty
