The invitation for next stage isn't in the purview and discretion of the agency... So, the exit of the CG and appointment of another one in acting capacity doesn't affect anything.
I pray it will be exactly as you have stated & invitation for next stage be as soon as possible.

As I promised to feed you with vital information about this awaited Nscdc recruitment, the news is classified into two phases;
However, Cg has been working to get an extension of some months to graduate the candidates before his retirement but whether cg leaves or not, the recruitment is still active and the list will be out any moment from now in November, 2020 from the source.
Therefore, correctional service have finished their recruitment except training those officers that did the documentation in October, 2020 furthermore, forget about the news which is being trending on media about the exam, there will be no exam for the applicants and successful applicants would be informed to attend the documentation and training at the same time, let me emphasis on this, the source revealed that there will be no exam, only successful candidates would be invited for documentations and training and the list will be sent to the respective states commands of the applicants before end of November, 2020 but the date has not been fixed about shorlist.
Thank you. May God Almighty include our names among the shortlisted candidates Amen.
OK na

NSCDC: Presidency stops DCG Madu, asks CG Gana to remain in office despite tenure expiration

There is confusion at the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana.

Gana’s extended tenure elapsed on Monday January 18.

In 2019, the federal government through the Ministry of Interior elongated his tenure by six months.

NSCDC spokesman, Emmanuel Okeh, in a statement on July 19, announced that the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbeshola communicated the approval.

Now, the presidency has asked Gana to remain in office pending an official memo on the next line of action, PRNigeria reports.

Gana was said to have handed over yesterday to a Deputy Commandant General, Hilary Kelechi Madu.

But the presidency, it was gathered, insists it did not give a handover directive and as such, the status quo be maintained.

The claim is that Gana still has two years in service.

If so, stakeholders wonder why was he granted a six-month extension that elapsed on Monday.

They argue that the government could have in 2019 approved his incumbency until “actual” retirement date

Madu is currently the most senior officer at NSCDC after Gana.

The DCG in charge of Operations now has to wait longer as efforts are being made to further extend his boss’s stay in office.

Powerful forces are lobbying the presidency and top officials for this to happen.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Aregbesola had been warned not to grant additional tenure extension to heads of paramilitary agencies.

Aside Gana, others are Controller-General, Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Jaafaru Ahmed, and Comptroller-General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede.

A retired Immigration Officer, Daniel Makolo, had stated that Aregbesola acted beyond his constitutional authority ab initio.

Aregbesola chairs the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

Makolo said he had no legal power “to recommend or extend the statutory tenure of any public servant, no matter and however industrious such an officer may be.”

The human rights lawyer pointed out that the Public Service Commission is the body empowered with specific provisions for entry and exit.

“The practice of arbitrary, illegal elongation of the statutory tenure of public office occupants sets a dangerous precedent for bureaucracy and national security”, he warned.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari may have decided to extend the tenure of the Commandant-General of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Gana, for another two years.

Gana was said to have handed over on 18th January to a Deputy Commandant General, Hilary Kelechi Madu, following the expiration of his tenure.

Madu is currently the most senior officer at NSCDC after Gana.

The development could not be confirmed from the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Mr Emmanuel Okeh, as the mobile phone was unreachable but sources said the Presidency asked Gana to remain office while a memo would be communicated on the extension of his tenure.

It was gathered that Gana has two more years in Service and that the Presidency insists it did not give a handover directive and as such, the status quo be maintained.

In 2019, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Interior elongated his tenure by six months.

NSCDC spokesman, Emmanuel Okeh, had in a statement on July 19, announced that the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbeshola communicated approval.

The Acting Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), DCG Hillary Madu, has been presented to the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola by Commissioner in charge of Appointment and Promotion at the Civil Defence Corrections Fire and Immigrations Board (CDCFIB), Alhaji Ado Ja’afaru. Alhaji Ja’afaru is also the Chairman of an Adhoc Committee setup to screen and recommend suitable candidates for the vacant positions according to extant laws.

Speaking during the meeting, Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola informed the Acting CG Madu that he has made recommendations to President Muhammadu Buhari based on the recommendations of the adhoc committee on the most suitable candidate to replace the outgone CG.

Speaking further, the Minister charged the acting CG to “identify low hanging fruits in your interim stay at the helms of affairs of your service. Take actions that will boost the morale of your men. I want to work with you to reshape your Corps so as to make it a reliable and robust assistant to the Nigeria Police.

“You are not the main security provider, but you are a supportive internal security provider. This is not meant to be derogatory, however, it is to sharpen the way you perform your duty and play your role in a way that will enhance internal security in the country.

The minister also reminded him of the central role of the NSCDC in agro-protection, saying: “Albeit, you are a main and front-liner in agro-security provision, so you must be conscious of that fact. You have to protect our farming communities and farmers, be it small, medium or largescale farmers to guarantee food security for the country” Aregbesola informed the Acting CG.

Aregbesola continued, “the prevalence of deadly fire incidence which is usually a fallout of lack of adequate protection or weakness in the protection of the pipelines must equally be focused on. I want you to develop a strategy that will eliminate the destruction of our pipelines which usually lead to these deadly fire incidents.”
The presentation of the Acting CG to the Minister followed the submission of the report by the adhoc committee on the screening and selection on substantive CG for the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) and NSCDC which was earlier presented to the Minister.
While presenting Acting CG, Commissioner Ado stated that upon the presentation of his committee’s report to the Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is also the Chairman of the board, directed the outgoing CGs of the two services under consideration to handover to the most senior officer in their respective service. Whilst outgone CG of the NSCDC handed over to DCG Hillary Madu, CG of the NCoS who had his passing out parade today, handed over reins of affairs in his service to DCG John Mrabure.

Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; Board Commissioner in charge of Discipline and General Purpose, Major General Emmanuel Bassey (Retired); and Board Secretary, Alhaji Alhassan Yakmut were present at the meeting.

Let's be prayerful. I pray we all get this Job. It won't take time on FCC's table. They have to consider many factors before the final shortlisting. Don't forget the board still have to write Presidential task force on Covid 19 to seek for medical advise so that it won't impede the final shortlisting just like NDLEA did. Luckily, Hon minister of interior and the chairman of the board is also a member of the presidential task force on Covid 19.

The six weeks unanimously given by the Green chamber of the National Assembly to Federal character Commission (FCC) and the House committee on interior will elapse upon resumption of the National Assembly next week. However, Final shortlisting is inevitable from month ending
