A Nigerian lecturer with University of Maiduguri, Dr. Yakubu Nura, has been announced as the winner of the 2019 World Physics Championship in Einstein’s Planetary Equation.

Nura’s research work was adjudged the best, beating 5,721 nominations from 97 countries screened for the championship.

The new world champion is now recognised as the Father of Modern Einstein’s Planetary Equation Studies in Physics.

The championship was organised by the International Agency for Standards and Ratings (IASR), which said Nura's emergence was based on an international meritorious competition.

The purpose of the award, according to the organisers, was to identify brilliant scientists and academicians around the world through world championship.
