Yes, Mikel has still not scored a goal this year. But he is causing serious trouble for opposing defenders. Chelsea played Spartak Moscow yesterday in the champions league in freezing Moscow. The match ended 2 - 0 in favour of Chelsea. Mikel was instrumental to the first goal. He lobbed a pass to Anelka in the 18 yard box. A Spartak defender tried to head it away and it fell in front of Zhirikov who fired it past the goal keeper. Two weeks ago, everybody was praising Ramirez for engineering Chelsea's first goal against Arsenal. But they forget that Mikel maneuvered the ball past two Arsenal defenders before passing it to Ramirez. Watch the replay. |
