Artificial Intelligence is a hot buzzword today. Most importantly, the conversation now revolves around the fear of AI taking over human jobs. It is without a doubt that the new age technology we’re talking about will create more jobs than it destroys.

Should we be fearful?

Having said, automation and the rise of AI do pose a threat toward the human race with the fear of job loss in the short term. However, on a longer run, the question comes to transitioning and transformation of jobs.

Will it be automation or elimination?

As much as we believe machines taking over mundane jobs, we should also realize that the rise of automation will displace other jobs that will help generate huge productivity gains. It would have been extremely difficult to accurately predict that extent of how electrification could change our lives in the 19th century, eventually, it did. In the same manner, it is still difficult to comprehend the exact figure of jobs that will be created offering high responsive fleets of automated cars. As artificial intelligence gets integrated into our lives embracing it and ensuring we have the skills will keep us prepared for the future.

Currently, we’re living in a world where every kid’s first work is OK Google. Thanks to the changing technology surrounding us. It is because of the fourth industrial revolution which is being led by new-age technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning, and virtual reality that is on a verge of making machines smarter. The sole reason why we’re being able to have smartphones, smart television, and smart cars. Perhaps, this is the best time for one to upgrade their IT careers and delve deeper into AI since there will be an abundance of job opportunities for job roles such as AI engineer and AI specialists.

For instance, take up a scene where a network security organization can display 10,000 messages on a security breach. How would employees tackle the situation? This could further be handled through human intuition and expertise in determining which one to prioritize. They also have the option to use a machine that will analyze these messages presenting them with the topmost priority for dispatch. Or they could build machines that are fully capable of prioritizing such messages making the right decision for each message.

But, what about widening the skill gaps between traditional practice and augmented work? Reskill, upgrade and upskill is the way ahead to stay in sync in the present AI revolution. A plethora of opportunities will be available for AI skilled professionals such as AI engineer or AI specialists.
