Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport, on Wednesday said the six geo-political zones in the country would make it difficult for anyone or group to successfully carry out a revolution in the country.

Speaking with Daily Independent, Babatope, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also described President Muhammadu Buhari as a ruthless dictator who would not tolerate any form of revolutionary protest against his government.

Also speaking on the detention of Omoyele Sowore by the Department of State Services (DSS), Babatope said the former presidential candidate is an impatient young man who does not really understand the implication of his actions.

“From my experience of Nigerian politics, having worked side-by-side with Papa Obafemi Awolowo, who brought me up to this stage, anybody talking about revolution in Nigeria is just wasting his time. The geo-political zones of Nigeria do not permit that.

“Also, the convener of the RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, I know him very well. He is an impetuous and impatient young man. All we must do in Nigeria is to ensure that we organise the country on the democratic path.

“We have an INEC that is independent enough to proclaim as winner whoever Nigerian people say is their choice. But to talk of revolution, we haven’t got the stamina like they do in Egypt, Sudan and others.
