Tecno recently launched the next line flagship in the Phantom series – dubbed the Phantom 9 – a successor to the Phantom 8. The new Tecno Phantom 9 brings lots of improvement over its predecessor in terms of design and features. Starting at the front, it has a bigger display, 6.4-inch to be exact and it is an AMOLED panel with a 1080p resolution. The fingerprint sensor here for biometric unlock has been moved underneath the display - a first for any TECNO smartphone. The display also uses the new and trendy 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch up top that houses the single 32MP front-facing camera and a very minimal chin down at the bottom.

It has a Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the display as well. The back is packed with cameras, three to be exact; a 16MP main camera with PDAF, an 8MP ultra-wide unit and a 2MP depth sensor unit for portrait shots.

On the inside is the Mediatek Helio P35 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics/gaming. This is hooked up to 6GB of RAM for multitasking and 128GB of internal storage to store all your files. The dedicated microSD card on the Tecno Phantom 9 can accommodate up to 1TB of additional storage.

As expected, it runs Tecno’s own HiOS Skin over Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and is powered by a moderate 3,500mAh battery capacity with no word on fast charging support yet.
