I’m sure it’s only in Nigeria that you have open gutters everywhere. If you cannot put a slab on gutters why create one in the first place?

Let these guy's not go and encure for themselves an expensive illness cause they are not trained to do so moreover no allowance created for it(medical). Don't be surprise they will just go home without medics after the exercise.
Safety in every endeavor must not be compromised, that's my take

Good job.
But the govt has to wake up and craft a policy on these non-recyclable waste items.

Where are the local government officials?
Is this not town council work
Are the governors so jobless?

What I am saying is that citizens must have a sense of responsibility as regards waste disposal.

cleaning isn't the solution but strict laws on sanitation.

Consistent cleaning is the solution. If a place is clean, people will not boldly litter it.

My own is lag govt should make strict laws that deal with environment offenders; if you are seen throwing dirts from ur car or public bus, you should be dragged down and asked to do community service for 4 hours

You get the drift! Nigerians especially Government workers have this "I cant come and kill myself attitude on top wetin" attitude. That gutter clearing is just propaganda. Its not their modus operandi

Why doesn't the Government install dustbins every few metres like its done in civilised countries to prevent people littering the streets and drains and causing perpetual flooding. And then back this up with patrols of enforcement officers dishing out instantly payable fines or arrest of any one caught littering thereafter.

And also cover the drains with removable grilled units that can be removed for cleaning. There is no civilised or wannabe civilised country with open drains. For one, open drains breed disease especially malaria.

If they don't do it, you will complain. If they do it, you will still complain. Ulterior motive ko, interior motive ni.
