Africans like to hold up to cultures that do not have any significant impact on their lives.

i Won't be surprised to see a culture in africa where to be buried will be a taboo.

Those African cultures that could have been useful to them today they have abandoned. There was a time that stealing is a serious taboo in Africa, if you steal your life is as good as gone. I remember growing up when I used to follow my grandmother to farm, there is this culture that when someone harvested their farm produce and placed some leaves on it, no third party will ever touch the item unless the person which the item is being kept for. This can take weeks or even a month before the owner of the item is able to pick it up and nobody will ever touch it. Who practises such culture today? Stealing is the order of the day, even your goods inside your house are not safe.

Nigeria and her many weird cultures.
Some traditions make no rational sense.

These pictures remind me of my cousin who was to marry an Anang girl. They had courted for over 2 years, yet he didn't even get past a handshake from his bride-to-be.
Her parents won't even let the lady visit him at home so that her virginity will be intact till their wedding night.

She was the Aliaha so being married as a virgin was the utmost bragging right she could give her family.

My godly cousin who respected the sanctity of marriage had no option but to keep himself too for his mbobo.

Sometimes we have to just fvck away with traditions like "Asa Ibale" because this was my poor cousin's discovery on the wedding night.

Some of you talk like someone just woke up in this 21st century and decided to start burying people like that. Youve forgotten their forefathers set all of these modalities for them to follow. You've forgotten what makes us Africans; what makes us distinct from the west where most of our practices today were BORROWED from. Personally, I'm glad some of our cultural practices that were considered dubious were abolished, I mean, I wouldn't wanna kill my twins or anybody's, I wouldn't wanna die simply because I'm a servant of the royal family and the dead king would need companions in the after life, I wouldn't want a whole lot of stuff but criticising every single cultural practice that does not align with western modalities is same as wiping every trace of your roots. In years to come, people will start criticising the customary practice of the payment of bride price, traditional marriages, etc. We are Africans. If the west do not understand us, let us try to Understand ourselves.

They're located in southern Borno and eastern Adamawa States. Most of these locations directly shared a border between Nigeria and Republic of Cameroon. And don't also say I didn't tell you this, they were previously good places to visit. But presently the worst areas affected by Boko Haram insurgency. Still not properly safe
