Whenever I hear this statement that Nigeria is corrupt then I used to think that it's only the government and its institutions. But then on broader sense, it includes all of us. The private sector is even more corrupt than the public sector. An average Nigerian has corruption instincts. The truth is-the public sector, the private sector, business owners, market men and women, students, teachers and lecturers, parents and children, buyers and sellers, Hausas, Igbos, Yorubas, all of us are either corrupt already or at best have the tendencies to be corrupt. After all, its we the private individuals that commit frauds, push drugs, sale fake and substandard goods, among other corrupt practices. So until we change our individual attitude, we remain corrupt.
