Fashola failed Las Las ..didn't achieve a single thing in power ..Fasola Shame on You !!!!
most of you don't know the problems behind that position, powerful cabals of this country will not let him achieve anything, he can't just purposely not perform but it beyond is power, let try another person then you will see, is fashola the first minister for power no, even now FG is trying to pay disco off, i think that could change a bit, even if your father be minister for power he will not achieve anything.

Education is poor in Nigeria

These people will never learn...why da bleep will this government keep designating the post of the power ministry to non engineers with little or no technical know-how to understand and manage such specialised position.

This is the very reason I do not take these visionless professional bodies seriously, where they are supposed to embark on aggressive advocacy they wouldn't all they are interested in is fighting for executive positions so they can embezzle collected dues and also use the platform to rein in contracts for their personal establishments. COREN & NSE comes to mind.

Fashola for all his successes as the governor of Lagos state failed woefully in this ministry because it's a case of square peg lost in a bottomless round shaft.

In the recent history the only appointee that understood the ministry and came up with a comprehensive blueprint to improve the comatose Nigerian power sector was Prof. Barth Nnaji, ofcourse he was on course to achieve that before the Nigerian factor crept in, his greed and personal interests blinded him to the set objective, which lead to his sack...only for that administration to bring in a near completely inept business man in the person of Prof. Chinedu Nebo and then the vicious circle continued.

If Fashola comes out for president tomorrow, I'll vote him. He is the best politician as far as I'm concerned.

NextGovernor:
Not until you are in someone's situation, u wouldn't know what the person went through. That was the case of Fashola when he was running his mouth during GEJ saying a responsible government will fix power within 40 days in office. My broda Fashola ended up putting us more in darkness.. lol

Should we now also refer to this government not responsible judging from his earlier statement ascertained to previous administration
yes na

Your bank adage says "when u are digging the pit for your enemies, don't make it too deep so that if u fall in, you can come out too" so was fashola when he was making mouth hen be cos opposition party was occupying the federal character. Now let him go and hid his face in shame

Minister of power does not have to be an engineer, he has plenty of those within the ministry, associated agencies, and consultancies.

Ministries need visionary leaders, just as the US Department of Defense is always headed by civilians who most often have no military background.

Leadership trumps academics.

We have been doing thesame thing in a particular way for so long and it is no yielding any dividend what stops us from doing it differently the way it ought to be and see the difference, , the so called engineers within the ministries and departments have always been there and as civil servants you know what entails , if they sense any nativity in the appointed minister they exploit it to the fullest.

You made mention of the US DoD always headed by civilian you never mentioned the part where such civilian selection is always having ties with intelligence community or military background.

I implore you to draw thesame analogy with the US Justice department or even that of Nigeria and ask yourself why they have decided to stick to their own.

They should have left him with Power and Aregbe with works and housing. We need a strong person who can focus solely on power and Fashola is the right fit for that. He was overwhelmed with 3 ministries so he could not focus effectively. Aregbe is also very good in Works and housing. This interior they gave him does not make sense for him.
