According to Reno Omokri, 'as a youth growing up in Nigeria, churches were not so rampant. The crime was low and people were content. As I grew up, churches became rampant.

As they increased, crime rose and discontentment grew. Perhaps Nigeria needs more contentment and less religiosity? As a nation, we need to understand that it is a righteousness that exalts a nation and not religion'.

Reno is definitely right on this. The proliferation of churches has greatly led to the increase in crime wave, most churches are more of business centres whose sole aim is to maximise profit. Virtues like peace, faith, love e.t.c have been relegated with prosperity doctrine taking the centre stage. One would think that the crime wave in Nigeria would be at its lowest ebb owing to the fact that the country is highly religious, but it is a pity that the reverse is the case. The higher the number of churches and pastors, the higher the crime rate. The pastors in the country will soon out-number the members. cheesycheesy
