Another Defeat For US? by dermmy(m): 10:04am On Aug 23, 2019
After the 9/11 terror attack on America by Al-Qaeda terrorist group. United States invoked NATO article 5 of 1949 and declared herself under attack. NATO countries launched Operation Eagle Assist by flying intelligence missions over American airspace. NATO military moved to Afghanistan to smoke out the Taliban, Al-Qaeda and Mullah Mohammed Omar the supreme leader in Afghanistan that gave Osama Bin-Laden a safe haven.

It's 18 years now US troops are still stationed in Afghanistan though the U.S and NATO formally concluded their combat mission in 2014, but American and allied troops remain, conducting strikes on the Islamic State group and the Taliban and working to train and build the Afghan military.

The Taliban, which now control roughly half of Afghanistan and are at their strongest since their 2001 defeat in the U.S led invasion, have dismissed the Afghan government as a U.S. puppet but have repeatedly offered talks with anyone who comes to the table as an ordinary Afghan.

Over 2400 American troops have died in this 18 year war and America has spent Trillions servicing the war in Afghanistan. Now America is the one leading the peace talks between the Taliban and Afghan government cause America wants to pull out of this military entaglement. Former president Barrack Obama once suggested a negotiation between the US and Taliban but he was heavily criticised by the republicans under the policy of "America does not negotiate with terrorists".

Is this a defeat for America? Can we say the US led NATO mission to crush the Taliban has failed? Because the Taliban is waxing stronger. And if we call it a failure what makes some people think America would defeat Iran and its Shia allies in the region within 2 weeks?

America Cannot defeat the Taliban because America values civilian lives while the taliban use civilian as human shield. They bomb public places disguising as civilians and disappear into the same crowed. The whole world's military together cannot defeat that.

The seeker: How do you kill what is already dead?

You mean America values human lives? I'm hearing this for the first time.

Stop educating illiterates. Let them perish in their ignorance since they are incorrigible.

In 2015, Amerika bombed Kunduz Hospital in Afghanistan

The attacks killed 42 people, 24 patients, 14 staff members and four caretakers.

Yes, Amerika does not kill civilians, she only bombs them - just like when deployed Mother of All Bombs (Moab) to kill harmless civilians in Afghanistan. grin

When Amerika engages you in war and your government refuses to surrender, next line of action is to start bombing your civilians until your government loses courage and compelled to surrender. Amerika has been doing this for atleast 5 decades.

You've said it all. US has been using Afghanistan as its weapons test bed since 2001. That MOAB na no mercy.

Lol.. He doesn't know what's up. He should have said America value the lives of her citizen and not any lives outside their country.
