let's even agree for once that the story was true. Of what use was the flood if it wouldn't eradicate sin and evil people?if the intention of God was not to eradicate sin and evil, then of what use was it?

GOD seems to "purge" when a society becomes completely evil

The World is Hell and so is evil continuously. Next time God might wish to punish the World, it will be with Fire(Sango) burning with Sulfur.

God accepts Repentance. That is why "He is coming soon" to re-establish New Jerusalems.

To punish those who do not harken to the voice of the Lord, those who rather do their own will than the will of the Lord. Same will still happen again but this time the lake of fire, continue making mockery of the word of God your eyes go clear that day

What of the babies and children and animals too. They didn't obey God, that's why they perished right?

eipc of Gilgamesh is present day Iraq ( Babylon ) the event happen when the earth was young , there was no tribe that time , no nation. God did not format their memory , God only temper with there language.and the great dispersion did not occurs UNTIL God alter there language. after the dispersion occurs , and every tribe give account of what happen in EARLY GENESIS. this prove the Genesis account is true.

it doesnt prove sh*t,there are different great flood stories in history from china to africa etc the story of genesis is a stupid one written by the romans 2000 years ago, even the noah ark story is stupid.

Come and tell us how noah fed thousands of animals, how he identified the male and female of thousands of animals, how he was able to cut down huge timbers and put them together,i'll wait

GOD brought the male and female animals to Noah. It's clearly written in the bible. Feeding thousands of animals for many months in a giant ship is not a problem at all. Afterall modern cruise ships do thesame for thousands of customers for a long time.

I bet your kinds would've told us the story of soddom and Gomorrah was a myth if it hadn't been verified.

yes,god brought the polar bears, anacondas, kangaroos, penguins, sloth, koala, african wild dogs, ostrich etc from different continents across the ocean to noah yet there is no geological proof of this, feeding thousands of animals is problematic because animals have different diets and most animals have to eat at least 3 times their body weight,so where did noah keep their food and how did he keep it fresh.let me guess sodom and gomorrah was verified by god too undecided

The story of the flood is the biggest B.S I ever heard.
How do you explain the facts that animals that survive on same food web/ food chain suddenly became friends eg.
Lion --> Goat, both starting posting about Ronaldo and Messi or wait, I figured Buhari and GEJ.
How on Earth was Noah able to fit in all living organism including those living at the bottom of the ocean where sun rays can't get to?
How do you reconcile the fact that a whale, male and female alone could had capsized the ark but this didn't happen, don't tell me there is nothing God can't do.
If they flood strory really happened, majority of our planet would be inhabitable except maybe Africa to a large extent.
One more thing, if the story is true, how then die sin re-enter the earth knowing well that those saved were righteous?
If you believe this, then your gullibility should be in the Guinness book of record

I have said this before in one of my thread "the letter killeth" Bible stories are not are not literal or historical.. They are metaphorical and allegorical.. You are expected to read the story and learn the message in it..

Obviously, the writer of this story adapted it from the Babylonian epic of gilgimesh..
The message in the story is to teach you that God creates, God also destroys... Isaiah 47:7.."i form the light and I create darkness, I make wellbeing and creates disasters.. I the Lord do all these things"

There is no separate God for light and for darkness or for peace and disaster.. It is the Lord God that is responsible for both.. The singularity of a dual concept..

It was the Romans that divided God into two separate entities, one for evil the other for good.. So they can sell their fabricated demi God to the unsuspecting masses.

Let's even agree the story is true. It would show that the god Yahweh, is probably not as powerful as he makes himself out to be or that he is weakening as the years go by. Look at it, the being who made humans from dust can't wipe the slate clean and start again? Instead, he relies on a man to spend 120years building a boat, this god that made heaven and earth in 6 days? Then look how his power is manifested later on, he is reduced to changing water into wine or walking on water, magicians of today do even more fantastic feats than that and even today Yahweh's power is so diminished you have to squint and cork your head to one side before you can see the so-called miracles.

Hi there.

It's a good question, whatever the reason may be for your asking it, and I have answered it in one form or another over the past several months on this board. Most recently, I answered it yesterday on another thread.

The Flood was brought by the Lord God to destroy the Nephilim. The target was not human beings. The Nephilim had spread until there were very few pure humans left. Of those few left, only Noah was interested in continuing to follow the Lord. So, the Lord God spared him and his family, to preserve the pure human race through them.

That raises the question, "what are the Nephilim?"

There are many theories out in the ether in answer to the question, but the biblical answer is that they are half-human half-angel products of liaisons between rebel angels and human women. An easy way to verify this is to look at the Antichrist. The Lord God said in the Garden of Eden that Satan would have a seed who would war with the Woman's Seed, in Genesis 3:15. When you get to Revelation 19, you find the Antichrist going to war with the Lord Jesus. Also, in Jude and 2 Peter 2, we are told that the angels who were involved in a debacle that was contemporary with Noah were chained and held in dungeons of darkness in the Abyss for their crime, then in Revelation 20, we see the same thing done to Satan, although there is the addition of a seal on the Abyss in his case. These things demonstrate that, just like the Antichrist, the Nephilim are angelic hybrids that were hard-hearted rebels against God.

Their absolute lack of interest in God's Truth is why Genesis 6 talks about their unabated evil. Man is sinful from birth, and our bodies are full of sin, but we possess a conscience that always accuses or encourages us depending on our behavior (Romans 2:14-15). If the Nephilim possessed a conscience, it is not evident in their recorded behavior. They were bent on unrighteousness and wickedness in everything they did.

But that may raise the question, "why then would people want them as children?"

Apart from the obvious answer that human wickedness does celebrate rebellion against God, because we think it is cool (Romans 1:32), there is also the fact that the Nephilim, being part-angel, possessed extraordinary ability. They were capable of things that ordinary humans were simply incapable of (Genesis 6:4). Who doesn't want to be called the mother or father or brother or sister or grandfather of some great genius or achiever? That was the main seduction. So, many people wanted their own Nephilim, and the genetic strain spread.

If that had continued unabated, all pure humanity would have been wiped out. If that happened, no Savior would ever have been born.

So, as God always does, He gave people ample time to repent and quit their bad behavior. They did not. Until there was just one man left who refused to join the madness. Noah, rather surprisingly had his first children at age 500 (20 years after he began building his Ark). That suggests that he took his time to find a fellow pure human to marry. By this time he had been prophesying already about God's Coming Anger against the wanton behavior of his fellow humans. Obviously they ignored him, and continued to cavort with rebel angels and have Nephilim.

God gave them 120 years of warning through Noah, while the prophet built his Ark.

At the end of the time that God gave them, God locked Noah, his family, and some vulnerable species into the Ark, and flooded the entire world with water from both the subterranean and the heavenly realms.

Now, as I said elsewhere, if God was looking to kill mere humans, it really doesn't take much. Humans are ridiculously easy to kill. But not Nephilim. Put a human in a rapids heading for Rocky Falls, and that is usually enough. But the Antichrist takes a fatal blow of some unspecified kind, and he lives, to the astonishment of a vastly sophisticated 21st century world (Revelation 13:3). The same is true of all Nephilim, so the Flood builds until there is enough water pressure to kill even them. And it covers the highest mountain to several feet deep to cut off every physical possibility of escape.

It wasn't ordinary human wickedness that God was targeting. It was Nephilim.

But God will come after human wickedness later in the Tribulation. So, humans are not being let off so easy either. We have a choice to believe now that we are alive. If we refuse, there is still quite literally hell to pay.

this is not mockery the story itself mocked the omnipotence of the All mighty ! if God could made Adam to slept off and form eve from his bone then that the same God can easily make eve and Adam to sleep off then He will rip off that evil out of them! but billions of people have washed away by their sin! something is not adding up in that story both creation story and Noah's!

I think this is the latest version to validate and justify the story. but the truth is, apart from Noah's, were all pure humans spared and how did the nephilim came to be, cos they were not included in the story of creation, and humans were all supposed to begot pure humans.
Also, why did the almighty God have to go through such rigorous process just to kill, couldn't he have spoke a word or stop them from breeding.
