Nigerians over who makes the best jollof has been settled - for now at least - by a cooking contest held in Accra.

Sika Mortoo, 24, beat her Nigerian counterpart, Chef Turay, to emerge the winner of the Onga Ghana Jollof Battle on Saturday.

She received $2,000 (£1,600) while Chef Turay was given $1,000 for her efforts by Promasidor, the private firm which organised the contest.

She only won because the contest took place in Ghana. If it was held in Nigeria, the result would have been vice versa. Moreover,a Yoruba man in Nigeria prefers Yoruba food or soup to that from which is from ant other tribe. Also, an Igbo man prefers the tribe's food or soup to that which is from any other tribe.
In summary, a Ghanaian prefers Ghana jollof rice to Nigerian jollof rice. Also a Nigerian prefers Nigerian jollif rice to Ghanaian jollof rice. Each of them is good to the people. None is better.

They should have held the competition on a neutral ground and persons who are not Ghanaians or Nigerians to do the tasting
