Xenophobia in South Africa a Mass Premeditated Murder - Tolu Akande-sadipe by lolusada: 12:57pm On Sep 03, 2019
In a recent discussion with the Chairman House Committee on Diaspora HON. Tolu Akande-Sadipe K representing Oluyole Federal Constituency.
out to condemn the killings of Nigerians in South Africa, in her statement she also called out the South Africa Media and the education system to tell and teach to their students the historic narrative and the importance role Nigeria played in their government.
Emphasis on the need of reorientation of their government officials and citizens
Tolu Akande-Sadipe said my thoughts on the violence in South Africa.
The word XENOPHOBIA is an excuse for MASS PREMEDITATED MURDER. This must stop, not by violent retaliation but by reorientation. One way is through aggressive historical narratives. The South African Media, The South African Educational System should tell the complete historical narrative on the role played by Nigeria in its fight for liberation from Apartheid. The Nigerian Expatraite (Because that's what they are) residing in South Africa, who sees a business opportunity and takes it, doesn't deserve to loose his life or have his business burnt down. He is not the enemy. This is misplaced aggression, a result of post apartheid economic disparity, which should be addressed through social economic policies rather than the blame game against African Expatriates # let's Stop #Xenophobia.
She also sympathized with the Nigerians living in South Africa saying the sad news that Nigerians are being humiliated & traumatized again in South Africa by thugs has been nothing but disheartening because it was preventable, I urge the South Africa police to speed up trial of policemen linked to killing of Nigerians, especially on the recent killing of Mr Pius Abiaziem we want the South African Police to speed up the trial of four policemen linked to the death.
I assure Nigerians in the diaspora that we are working more diplomatic solution to prevent future occurrence.
#let'Stop Xellnophobia she said
