A Fourteen Year Old Diagnosed With Idiopathic Scoliosis by Manuchiso(f): 2:35pm On Sep 03, 2019 |
Miss Hephzibah Lekia Oladipo, a 14 year old was diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis about 4 years ago. Despite medical interventions in hospitals since then, the curvature has progressively increased and is now at 74ᵒ. From the series of examinations, tests, x-rays and physiotherapies at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Creek Medical Consultant and finally National Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu, it was concluded that she has to undergo urgent surgical operation to prevent further deterioration and profer a permanent solution. However, this surgery can only be done outside the country. Enquiries from Medical Centres in the USA and Canada indicate that surgery cost alone is about $40,000 and inclusive of ancillary expenses such as international and local flights, accommodation, feeding plus other incidentals will bring the total budget to approximately 50,000 USD. This is about N18,000,000 (Eighteen million naira) @ N360 per dollar. Hepzibah is a very brilliant girl with great potentials and is currently in Senior Secondary year 1 (SS1) at the Fdetal Government Girls College, Abuloma. Born in Port Harcourt and daughter of Mrs LeeLee Oladipo ( nee Nwikina; of Kono Town) and Pastor Gbenga Oladipo (of Ibadan, Oyo State). Hepzibah is the first of two daughters of concerned parents who are passionately seeking for support to bring her pains to an end. We therefore humbly appeal for financial support to raise the money required ($50,000 USD) to enable Hephzibah overcome this medical challenge within the next few months. A special account has been opened for this purpose and all supports should be sent into this fund. Details are as follows: Account name: Hephzibah Lekia Oladipo Account Number: 3720002108 Bank: Eco bank Pictures below show the latest medical report, x-ray and physical posture.
