Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday said that the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other nationals in South Africa were contrary to the sacrifices made by the founding fathers of the modern nation.

He said this in Kano State when he went to inaugurate an independent 7.1MW solar hybrid power plant at the Bayero University, Kano.

Baba Osibanjo said nothing but the truth here.

We remembered Pan Africanism like it was yesterday.

South African blacks running to every African country for help to tackle the Apartheid government

We remembered the Sacrifices made by our leaders including one General Olusegun Obasanjo who converted British petroleum to African petroleum as a protest against the British government support for the Apartheid government..

We remembered how we mounted sustained pressure through the united nations on international community to sanction the Apartheid government after the killings of innocent children in Soweto.

Nothwithstading, our efforts, it goes to show everyone that there's no place like home.

We should have probably ignored South Africans and developed our country rather than play big brother with our resources and influence.

This is a lesson for the future generations of Nigerian leaders.
