President Trump has said it all, CNN is a fake news! Nigerians are now the ones looting? Did they also report how many Nigerians have been arrested by Nigeria Police just because of burning tires while SA governments have arrested virtually nobody for the killings and burning of Nigerians and their properties in SA. 3 Likes |

We only gave them a taste and they are crying, well any further provocation will result to burning down their businesses. That will teach them a permanent lesson not to mess with us ever again. To the trigger happy police men who are eager to kill their own, you better watch it. |

Dansioligy: A lot of those killing videos going round on social media would have been auntheticated by CNN, aljazeera .etc. And found to be old videos. So they won't report it. The main videos dt have occurred recently are ones made by Nigerians after running away from attack, shop vandalizations by SA's, and a face off riot between Nigerians & south Africans. No videos of killings were caught on camera in this incident. |

This kind of ugly image is not what Nigeria and Nigerians would want to be associated with, it is saddening, but regardless, I believe it has helped to waken this slumbering govt. For FREE Lesson Notes for all School Teachers and students, check my signatures |

KanwuliaExtra: What would be the impact of fighting off foreigners from your land from 1652 to 1990? Don't you think it would lead you to always consider foreigners as threat? There's hardly any problem in Africa that can't be traced to white people. Having said that, white people can't be blamed for the inability of South Africans today to understand the psychological reasons behind their actions and heal themselves. But that won't be easy because as long as white people have given them the illusion of freedom while they're still being colonized, its clear to me how they'll transfer their aggression to fellow Africans. 5 Likes |

Xenophobia Morning Brief So, Nigerians have been attacking stores owned by South Africans in Nigeria and people are attacking them for it. While these acts should be condemned, the narrative that Nigerians own these South African companies under franchise is an absolute lie. Shoprite The South African chain store is owned 100% by South Africa parent company and does not have any Nigerian as owner. What they do is approach the owner of a Mall (like Ikeja city Mall) and rent a space for their products. These products are sourced from local suppliers and foreign suppliers. However, once a local supplier delivers the goods to Shoprite, Shoprite is responsible for the safety of the goods and MUST pay the supplier should anything happen to the goods. So Nigerians are not affected. However, the entire Mall is not owned by Shoprite, just the Shoprite store in the Mall. MTN Nigeria MTN Nigeria is not owned by Nigerians in whole. In fact, 85% of MTN Nigeria is directly owned by the South African company. MTN parent company own 76% while Stanbic IBTC (also South African) own 9%. The remaining are shared across many other organizations, including MTN cooperative society. When MTN listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the shareholders refused to let go of their shares for public purchase. DSTV Nigeria DSTV Nigeria is a franchise owned by Mr. Ogunsanya of Multichoice. However, all revenues of the company go to South Africa while DSTV Nigeria only submits quarterly budgets to run the DSTV Nigeria to South Africa. The only way DSTV Nigeria gets paid is in the area of selling decoders, dish installation and others. This is not to promote violent but merely a piece of information. SimSify: 1 Like |

SimSify:Don't mind them. I've been reading different comments without weighing the implications. How many South Africans are here and how many nigerians are there? How many have been touched home and away(south away), how many South Africans won't go to work today because of destroyed businesses, only a few. Who has a bigger problem and whose problems keeps increasing? How many multi national Nigerian companies are operating in South Africa? Although the xenophobic and stigmatization of foreigners by some South Africans is wrong. But a more political approach would have been better. It just shows what we are as a people. You get to a place, you see your fellow nigerian, you decide to destroy and steal properties/goods. All in the name of protest, Who and what are you protesting for or against? We need to think seriously? |
