Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi on Thursday said the South-East governors have no apology to tender to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a recent open letter to the governors, IPOB had made some demands including an open apology.

But briefing State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Umahi said “We have no apology to tender.”

The governor also noted that the South-East governors did not proscribe IPOB because it didn’t have the power to do so.

He also said IPOB lacked the power to issue travel ban to the South East governors.

Couldn't believe my ears. I mean, how does a country or a nation function so well without a written constitution? sad

Umahi, this is a reckless statement, IPOB knows you did not proscribe them, but are holding you accountable for not doing enough to stop it.

Umahi remember you can't be a governor for more than four years to come, I suggest you be careful with your choice of words.

if Nigeria is good, flowing with milk and honey what will our brothers and sisters be doing in south Africa in the first place

How exactly sir?... Does IPob have the authority to issue travel bans?... Did the governors proscribe the group?... What exactly should the governors be apologizing to the group for?...

If Umahi has a "2023 ambition", shouldn't that be his right and prerogative as stipulated in the constitution of the country where he governs?... I completely fail to understand your grouse with the hardworking man, other than his personal refusal to join a confused bandwagon of hate-mongers.

1.Those people in IPOB are jobless people who have no properties to lose

2. Even Ojukwu that fought the civil war, was he not disappointed by his people when he wanted to be senator?

It does not mean that they don’t have a written constitution what it means is that their laws are documented in different volumes or documents but that you cannot find one document called the constitution of Britain or United Kingdom e.g You will see the Magna Carter as a body of their law, you will still find other documents like the common law of England but no where will you find all in One volume as you can find The Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria �� in one Book form. Their type of constitution is called Unwritten Constitution and it is more flexible to make amendments to it than it is with written constitutions which is more rigid to amend.
