Oga, take it to the bank. If both parties don’t give their tickets to the South, the SW will start to beat the drum of disintegration of the union. I hope you know they control the media. I can bet you that immediately the PDP gives its ticket to the North to counter the SW in APC, bye-bye to your Nigeria. They won’t even try it. You know the Yorubas are the only group capable of dividing the country neatly as they are mainly the group keeping the country together. Everyone is camped in their region from everywhere else. They pull out, bye bye to Nigeria. By the time the media starts, North won’t even think about it CSTR2: 5 Likes 1 Share |

meditator:You must be suffering from chronic delusion. Even northerners know that Southwest votes hardly make a difference in deciding who wins presidential election. Remember that in both 2015 and 2019 general elections, APC recorded only a small margin of win against PDP in the southwest; less than 300k votes in the entire region! Such a paltry number of votes can never make anyone president in Nigeria compared to the bloc votes PDP gets from the southeast. An alliance between the north and southeast/south south come 2023 will guarantee a win for the PDP. I know that many of you are aware of that fact and that is why you're trying hard to pit the Southeast against the north. I expect to see more of your attempts at creating a strife between the north and southeast as the 2023 elections approach. I just hope that northerners would not fall for such gimmick. |

When did Awolowo try to secede? Are you talking about the 1964 trial that was full of trumped up charges and supported by Akintola his erstwhile deputy? The entire Yoruba has never agitated to leave before except for June 12 aftermath and the entire country hurriedly made sure both parties’ candidates were Yoruba. That’s how you know who is valued. When they start fighting the cause of the South through the media for 2023, the North will do a quick roundabout. Anyone that thinks the SW will idly sit by and allow the North grab another of the major parties’ ticket is dreaming. Just watch the narrative in the media from 2022 onwards CSTR2: 5 Likes |

SamNaijaboy: Story!!! Nigeria offered the Presidency to a pan-Nigerian who was just happened to be Yoruba. We did not give it to a bigoted Yoruba like Abiola which was what the Yoruba agitators wanted. The South West had to settle for what it got. Even more offers were made to the East before the civil war but was rejected by Ojukwu. |

That “Bigoted” Abiola won the fairest election cast in this country fair and squarely. I guess majority of people did not agree with your “bigotry” appellation on the gentleman. He was so pan-Nigerian people looked past an all Muslim ticket. Obasanjo was the Yoruba with the military background the North could Trust. There was Mike Akhigbe there and Ukiwe etc that were ex-military Southerners that could have been favored. He was chosen based on military Seniority, a perception that he could be trusted not to upset the Northern structure, and he was the right tribe, even same state, with Abiola Maduawuchukwu: |

SamNaijaboy: Abiola became a divisive figure after the elections when he surrounded himself with his tribesmen. Before the elections he was seen in a more moderate light. One of the reasons why power was not given to him after the death of Abacha was that he had become a divisive figure after the annulment. 1 Like |

Lol, of course he did because in the history of Nigeria, which tribe has been known to agitate peacefully and a bit riotously with results? With Gani, Fela, Soyinka etc? Also because the Yoruba and some SS ( Alfred Rewane, Ibru) were the only ones willing to go all out to defend his mandate. He rightly sure wasn’t banking on the SE that stabbed him in the back with Nzeribe filing the ABN lawsuit and Daniel Kanu of the 40million Abacha March. The SE politicians then were noted for being cash and carry without a spine. Up to you to decide if they have changed. So much for the Southern unity then I guess when the SE is doing the backstabbing. Of course he was divisive to the SE. Always throwing the first punch and then screaming victim when the other person decides to fight back Maduawuchukwu: 4 Likes |

I've said it that the North will surprise the West in 2023. They kept quiet whilst easterners were killed by Nigerian soldiers they kept quiet when the middle belt and the North were ravaged by fulani herdsmen and Boko haram. |

SamNaijaboy: So the people who voted for him from the East and North were not for him? So Ndubuisi Kanu, Olisa Agbakogba et al who fought for him were also Yoruba people? Abiola made error by ethnicising his struggle and that cost him his presidency. Where were Soyinka and the rest during the campaigns that brought him to power in the first place? 2 Likes |

South west is playing a very dangerous game, one that could cost them their future. The kind of trust they put on the north to deliver a SW presidential candidate, rather than creating a unified south that can be politically strong enough to challenge the north, could bring doom upon them. This is a game of Desperation. whoever is more desperate and has the number, would have it. And we can all see that the north is desperate and equally has the number. Everything is politics; don't be surprised if the north team up with the east and ss tomorrow leaving the south west allegiance so long they have more things to gain.? You helped Buhari does not mean that the north owe you anything. |
