It's no longer news that farmers who adopt innovation and utilizes modern methods of farming practices realises more money due to the Higher yields per hectare which they record on their farms. Higher Productivity in their farming enterprises translates to higher income. These higher Productivities nullifies all other losses occasioned by poor human resources management, dearth of knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), post harvest losses and lower market prices.

Very often I read online and hear of people who have lost lots of money (milllions of naira) in the course of starting, opening and managing a farming enterprise. These gets me thinking and when I pose to them couple of questions about their aims before starting out. That's was the source of their problems.

Why are you starting a farm??
What new knowledge are you bringing to the table that is different from what other farmers (low earners) already have??
What are you coming to do differently??
Are you here for the money??
Are you here for Value Addition??

The list is endless. But the are posers that helps to retrace ones steps.
