I have always wondered what happened to the first Heaven and Earth in Genesis 1:1-2, before He started creating this present one from Genesis 1:3 to the end of the 6th and 7th day when God rested.
What really happened in-between vs 1 and vs 2 of Genesis chapter 1?
Genesis 1:1-3 New International Version (NIV)
The Beginning
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

That's what is referred to as the Gap Theory. There are numerous submissions and presuppositions regarding this. You can google it.

According to one of the submissions, it was believed that a world had existed before the creation of the present world....... The causes of the annihilation or destruction of the presumed first creation cannot be ascertained.

However, according to the verses you quoted above, " ..... and the world was without form and void...." buttresses the fact that there was a Gap of Thousands of years between the first and second verses of genesis Chapter one.

Does Go d destroy his creation?

Its the unfolding process of the "wrapped" word/process unfolded.

Although differences theories may arise. As there was a formless world before this.. One covered with darkness ... This creation almost appears like a reconfiguration of drawing out form from a deformed pre-existant creation

Many theologians and do ep spiritual teachers though teach that a race existed before ours but like Adam failed and that God had been before now creating species to understand his will but kept failing and falling, but then, there's no objective truth about this.

Hi.

You seem to ask a few interesting questions on your profile. This is definitely one.

I'm a little under the weather, so I can't give a comprehensive answer right now. I will give you a link for the best treatment I know of this subject, but for now I will try to give you a brief overview.

1. God only creates perfection
James 1:17; Isaiah 45:18; and indeed the whole Bible witnesses that God does not create ruins. So, you're very correct that God first created a perfect universe which then got destroyed and then re-created.

2. Satanic and angelic rebellion
If God only creates perfection, clearly an explanation is needed for why the earth came to be a ruined waste in Genesis 1:2. The answer is in Isaiah 14:4-21 and Ezekiel 28:12-19. At a certain point in pre-human history, Satan, who was the highest-ranking angel - second only to the Manifestation of the Trinity in the Angel of the Lord, the pre-incarnate Word, the Lord Jesus Himself - grew jealous of God's Position and wanted it for himself. So he planned a coup, seduced a third of the angels to join him in it, and promptly usurped God's Authority in the pre-human pristine Paradise Earth where God's Throne was.

God allowed this to go on to make sure that every angel had an opportunity to choose whether to stay loyal to God (which is their natural state, see Deuteronomy 33:2-3 and Psalm 89:5, for example) or to join Satan in his rebellion. When everyone had made their choice, and confirmed it to be unchanging, God rendered His Judgment, which resulted in the destruction of that perfect universe with dark, icy, flood waters.

3. God re-created the universe.
As the foregoing shows, the rest of Genesis 1 described a re-creation of the universe, not a first-time creation. Job 38 shows that the angels already existed at the time of re-creation (see verse 7, for example). This would not make much sense if the foregoing was not true.

As for why God re-created the Universe, it was in order to answer all of Satan's slanders against Him. He remade the universe in order to create a new thing from which replacements for all the rebel angels including Satan would be produced. This new thing was Man. Man was created to be just like the angels, except considerably weaker. His possession of a physical body was key to God's Plan. That is the main difference between the angels and human beings.

As for how God re-created the Universe, He did not need to do it in seven days. God created time, after all, the first time that He created the whole Universe out of nothing. So, He made all of existence in no time flat the first time around. A re-construction of this part of it (that is, not including the Third Heaven and the subterranean realms) did not need seven days at all. He only used seven days to make a point, to teach the human race that we have seven thousand years to make our own choices about Him - whether we will turn away from rebellion against Him and serve Him (since our own natural state is rebellion from the Fall of Adam in the Garden) or not (compare Hebrews 4).

4. The Resolution of Creature Rebellion and Full Restoration of the Universe.
All of the Bible is the story of existence with respect especially to Man's own role in God's Grand Scheme. So, what we see in Genesis really is the description of the setting of the stage for Man to enter the picture. When we go on to learn the rest of the Bible, we see that God is working toward reclaiming the Earth from Satan through Man, especially through the Second Adam, the Incarnate Word, the Lord Jesus Himself. It is through this Unique Man Who is also God that the Father will crush all creature rebellion, destroy this universe with purifying fire, and create a whole new one where He will live with all those - both angels and human beings - who chose eternal allegiance to Him forever in perfect righteousness and bliss such as is inconceivable in this world.

Here's that link I promised: https://ichthys.com/sr2-copy.htm

For an even more comprehensive treatment of the Bible's story, I counsel studying the series at https://ichthys.com/Satanic-Rebellion-Home-Page.htm and https://ichthys.com/Coming-Tribulation-Home-Page.htm. The first is a very useful, even necessary background to the second, which is itself a comprehensive treatment of eschatology.

Grace be with all God's People.

I do not seem to understand your question yet..
There is no indication of a different heaven or earth that was first created in those verses ..

The same one that was from verse 1 still remains till now ....
Please help me understand your question properly
