The Federal High Court in Abuja has summoned the senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, over rape allegations levelled against him by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer, Timi Dakolo.

According to a court document seen by newsmen on Monday, Fatoyinbo is to appear in court within 14 days.

The cleric had in August faced questioning by the police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Garki Area 10, Abuja, where he was grilled by a team of detectives led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Adaku Anya, Igbere TV reports.

Busola alleged in June that Pastor Fatoyinbo raped her as a teenager in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The allegation caused a storm with protesters marching to the church in Abuja and its branch in Lagos to express their displeasure.

Force spokesman, Frank Mba, said that more pastors would be interrogated over the allegation.

Fatoyinbo had snubbed the panel set up by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to investigate the rape allegation.

He said he was advised by his lawyers not to appear before the panel because it was prejudiced and may not conduct an impartial session.

Good. I'm sure his lawyers won't counsel him to shun court summons. I don't understand what is difficult in coming out clean IF AT ALL THEY HAD SOMETHING TOGETHER IN THE PAST.

His sympathisers asked for it. You don't push a victim (alleged or not) to the wall. Console them or just ignore.

Fatoyinbo is a clown whose part never really died. I'm sure it is why he never came out to talk about the whole thing. Pastor E.A Adeboye, once in a while talks about how he cheated on his wife and how he confessed himself because the Holy Spirit wouldn't let Him rest.

I hear pastors say they did wild stuff in the past and no one judges them because it is all in their past. One pastor recently admitted marrying a second wife as an unbeliever and the narrative was so funny that you'd never hear people nail him.

The fact that guy man is not talking, let alone not opening up says a whole lot. Perhaps he is scared of the underage aspect of the whole thing and we all know what that means if he owns up. Regardless, this issue wouldn't have degenerated to this if he claimed it was before he became a pastor and had no idea of her age.
