Since missing a penalty is a crime and a punishable offense then let 'the referee that awarded it be playing it or the coach should be playing it or any match official should lace his or her boot to take the kick then.

Arrant nonsense!!!

A lot of u commenting do not have first and knowledge on the rivalry BTW this teams. This is a huge rivalry like City/Utd, GH/NGR and with a kick away from going to the next round of the WC qualifiers, its only normal for tempers to flare. That doesn't mean the fans did right.

Game of football doesn't preach war....the fans should pardon him..... Or should Nigerians mobilise to Ighalo house or Aiyegbeni's house

The part that said he was speaking to the BBC while "hiding in his bedroom" on a Monday for a penalty which he missed on a Sunday really cracked me up. Couldn't stop myself from roaring with laughter. Really.

But then, a Sierra Leone vs Liberia encounter is a no-joke affair. It's pretty much like war all over again. Too bad he had to miss a penalty on such a crucial occasion. Very unfortunate indeed.

Please, submit to superior argument and stop being a nuisance here. What he said was right. There are crazy fans the world-over. The South Americans for instance can kill for the game. Don't just think it is purely an African thing.

Clearly, you are not in tune with what goes on in other continents as far as fans' violence/rage is concerned. That's why you had to drop this ignorant rant.

I urge you to do a quick research on football violence and see for yourself. If you ask me, Africans are not the craziest football fans on Earth.

Football is no longer about passion. It's about economics considerations...Do you know how many fans have staked their money on that match? The only way they felt they can recover their losses is for the man who made them lose to also lose his investment. More are coming, gamblers will soon roast referee for sinking their betting chances

It wasnt totally about gambling, they won but failed to qualify, assuming he scored that goal, they will progress to the next round.

Someone will soon recommend we Nigerians should act similarly. Ancestors please help! Ban ECOWAS, quit African Continental Free Trade Area befor it is too late, Africa can only teach us rubbish and influence us back to the stone age.
