A Nigerian man returning back to Nigeria following xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa has cried out over his wrongful arrest.

In a video that's currently going viral online, the man was seen making a video while in the police station.

According to him, he was arrested with his brother while trying to explain to them that his brother is not a criminal. He added that in the process of their arrest, the South African police hit him with gun leaving him wounded.

This is coming following the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

South African mobs had launched attacks on foreigners, including Nigerians, and looted and burnt their places of business in suburbs of Johannesburg and surrounding areas on Sunday and Monday.

Three persons were reported to have been killed in a fire started by a mob on an abandoned building in the Jeppestown area of Johannesburg.
