Please see the condition of the only road to Ugwueme in Enugu state. This road was said to have been awarded by the Federal government for N250M, but it has been abandoned and the community feel neglected by the state government. Ugwueme is one of the communities in Awgu Local government and represented by Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
The road was supposed to be under construction but no activity on the road for the past several years. The locals say the politicians only show up during election and then disappear after the election. Many in the community lament the deplorable condition as they have been cut-off from the outside world for weeks now. Many motorist have abandoned the road due to its terrible state. The few motorcycles that could navigate the road endure tragic losses and damages to their motor bike. The road has become a death trap when it rains

The bad state of the road has aided the harsh economic condition in the community. People are dying and pregnant women can't go to hospital. The local school has almost shut down due to the teachers unable to access the school due to the terrible condition of the road. This is unbearable and many farmers can't get to the market to sell their fresh produce. This road links Enugu to Abia and Imo State, the only road that can you get you to all three states in less than 20minutes.
The community feels abandoned by the govt and calling on the state and federal govt to come and do something. Its a matter of life and death, its an emergency.
