A special envoy made up of three officials have been dispatched by President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa to some seven African countries after he was booed at former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's funeral in Harare on Saturday September 14.

The special envoy made up of former minister Jeff Radebe, Ambassador Kingsley Mmabolo and Khulu Mbatha, a veteran leader of the ruling African National Congress will be visiting Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia to deliver a message of solidarity and also brief each country's government on steps South Africa is taking to end the xenophobic attacks.

“The special envoys will brief governments in the identified African countries about the steps that the South African government is taking to bring a stop to the attacks and to hold the perpetrators to account,” the statement from South Africa's presidency read.

Recall that the South African President was booed as he addressed mourners at Robert Mugabe’s state funeral service at the National Sports Stadium in Zimbabwe's capital Harare.

He apologised on behalf of South Africans but was told by angry Zimbabweans that an apology is not enough. Zimbabweans told him that they want his government to arrest those behind the attack and ensure the protection of their foreign nationals.

So, assuming he was giving a rousing welcome in Zimbabwe, he would have paid deaf ears to the unceasing stupidity of his fellow citizens?

There's no difference between this moronic buffalo and the affidavits Buhari.

xenophobic is a scam. what transpired in SA recently is a govt sponsor attack against foreigners most esp Nigerians, if not he would have summoned his securities chiefs for the lawlessness of his mumu citizens

xenophobic is a govt sponsor thing just as federal govt is sponsoring Fulani herdsmen against other Nigerians in the course of supremacy and domination

Buhari and SA president share the same thing in common hence is soft approach against the unruly behavior of SA and their dumb president

I am speaking to South Africans now. Mandela was deceived/given a condition that he must declare SA as a Rainbow Nation before he would be released and made president. He fell for that and up till today 80% of SA's wealth is in the hands of the less than 10% white. SA is not a Rainbow Nation it is a Black Nation. That is what Mugabe enforced in Zimbabwe and also people like malema of the EFF party stands for. If South Africans are wise they should fight the right people not fellow Africans that are looking for daily bread.

Where is Zimbabwe today?

They have their land back. No more 5% white ownership of 95% of the land, with the blacks peasants and slaves on their ancestral land. That is OVER. Thanks to Bob Mugabe.

It is a more equitable country today, and they are recovering from the western imposed economic sanctions.

SO THEY ARE IN A GOOD PLACE. THEIR FUTURE IS BRIGHT.

White people never owned 95% of land in Zimbabwe. If you mean they owned 95% of cultivated arable land (which is nonsense still - they owned less than 70% of the best cultivated arable land at their peak ownership), perhaps that is true. But there was plenty of uncultivated or lightly cultivated arable land at the time their lands were expropriated. Their lands were seized more out of vengeful, envious spite (whether deserved or not) at their success and affluence than necessity for black Zimbabweans which drove their economy into a ditch.

If you mean it's a more "equitable" country today in poverty, I guess that's true. I guess that's why they're flooding South Africa.

Nice, I am yet to have a growth statistic after the land had been returned to the blacks but instead the economic took a tumbling as black farmer owners were unable to sustain production capabilities of the previous owner.

I indeed hope they turn that around in Zimbabwe but if that policy is adapted in SA the country will be worse off. There are lots of uncultivated lands in SA n the govt can have those shared to willing farmers n increased state taxes probably tru legislation on illegally acquired farm lands by the white but going the Zimbabwe way will be turning SA to another shithole populated by African refugees like the rest of sub Sahara African.

A tip of such iceberg is the nationalisation that happened in Nigeria. Tell me, is Nigeria not worse off after you chasing away those foreign owned companies ?! Why do we go begging SA for MTN Shoprite etc to come invest in Nigeria ? Look around after the departure of those nationalised assets what you see is decay & deterioration. Zimbabwe is already on that path. I pray SA never had to walk that path.
