Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has condoled with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, over the death of her father, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV had reported that Okonjo-Iweala, a former Minister of Finance, lost her father, Obi (Prof) Chukwuka Okonjo, on Friday.

Okonjo, who was the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, died in the United States, aged 91.

Reacting to the development in a statement sighted by Igbere TV on his official Facebook page, Okowa, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor, wrote;

“My prayers are with the former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; her family; and the people of Ogwuashi Uku, over the passing of HRM Prof. Chukwuka Okonjo, the father of Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala and Obi of Ogwuashi Uku. ‬

“‪May Obi Okonjo’s soul Rest In Peace.”
