The Many Sins Of Gov. Udom Emmanuel prt 1

According to some people, Akpabio's era as governor was an era marked with plentiness: much to eat and drink, likewise more money to spend. But to economist and right thinking people, Akpabio's era as governor was nothing but an era of wastage and recklessness.

While the former group are of the belief that more money was in circulation, the latter group asked a question, " if their postulation is true, why were there high level insecurity, inflated prices of commodities as well as poverty in the State? Till today, they're yet to answer these simple questions.

Governor Udom Emmanuel upon assumption into office promised to turn the State to an industrious hub. Thus, he has attracted no fewer than 17 industries to the State so far. Indeed, he has kept to one of his key campaign promises. The people may not like him because he's not a liar like others.

As one who understands the pains involved in sponsoring a child through education, he took it upon himself to proscribe cult activities in our Campuses. He introduced the students intervention scheme where every child who finds it difficult to meet up to his school charges could possibly get instant financial aide from the State Government.

The vice versa of the above was the case in the last era. Our brothers and sisters in tertiary institutions were introduced into cultism and promiscuity before being assisted. On a daily basis, dead bodies of our students were littered at the Uyo village ravine and other ravines in Uyo. The abolishment of cult activities in our Campuses according to the naysayers is one of the sins of the State governor.

Also during the last dispensation, there was no freedom of choice and information. Irrespective of who you are, you must support the policies and decisions of the emperor else, you will be massacred at midday. But today, anyone anywhere can talk down the present administration without an iota of fear. They believe the governor's inability to toe the path of his predecessor denotes weakness, and such, he's not deserving to be governor.
