Ondo State government has warned residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse vowing to take drastic measures to change the current unkempt state of certain areas of Akure metropolis.

The Permanent Secretary of the Waste Management Authority , Mrs Bola Akinyanmi said this when she led Environmental Officers on an enforcement tour around the state.

A clean and hygienic environment is important for healthy living hence the huge worry generated as a result of environmental pollution due to human activities and negligence towards their environment.

This prompted the Waste Management Authority led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Bola Akinyanmi to embark on sensitization of the public on proper waste disposal
Mrs Akinyanmi said that residents should endeavor to put cleanliness first and also pay their service charge as expected for proper disposal of their refuse.

A new addition to the cleanliness strategy is that residents can now write to report to the government when officers of the waste management fail to perform their duties.
