4.Tomas de Torquemada

Torquemada was the Grand Inquisitor of Spain from 1483 to 1498.  The Spanish inquisition was an ecclesiastical tribunal run by the Spanish monarchy that aimed to root out heretics, threatening Roman Catholic Church in Spain. Given to his hate, without much evidence he tortured Jews, whipped them, and subjected them to physical abuse such as foot roasting, suffocating, burning alive, and grilling. Some of the brutalist ways he resorted to were garrucha ( pulling arms and legs from socket), Porto ( stopping blood flow), and skinning from head to waist.  He burned around 2,000 to 10,000 Jews on stake. He was the mind behind influencing king Ferdinand and Queen Isabella to expel every Jew or Muslim who refused to embrace Christianity. He died naturally in his old age

5.Elizabeth Bathory

Elizabeth Bathory was a Hungarian noble countess and a known serial killer, infamously known as ‘Blood Countess’. In the Guinness World Record she has been labelled as the most prolific female murderer killing hundreds of young women. Her stories of sadistic serial murders were verified by testimony of more than 300 survivors who also revealed her vampire like tendency, in which she liked bathing in the blood of virgins to retain her youth. She at times drank their blood, stabbed them with needles, burned them, and ate their flesh, especially private parts. She was one of the inspirations of Vlad Dracula, receiving her name ‘Countess Dracula’. In 1614, she died at the age of 54.

He was the mind behind the 9/11 attack that crashed the Twin Tower injuring more than 6,000 and killing around 3,000 people, bombed US Embassies in Dares Salaam, Tanzania, and Kenya. He even sponsored Luxor massacre, and guided Al-Qaeda to bomb throughout the world including Madrid train in 2004, Bali in 2002, Qahtani, Jazeera, and Iraq in 2007. #22. General Ibrahim Gbadamosi Babaginda. He killed the integrity of Nigeria as a nation. He gave oil blocks as gifts to people who knew nothing about oil like the one he gave his wife’s tailor, Mrs. Alakija. His rule was one where corruption was practically legitimized. He made Nigeria join OIC. It is alleged that he killed people who dared to speak out against his atrocities like the reporter Dele Giwa. He is said to have been so charming and slippery that some of those who initially saw him for the brutal dictator he was ended up mesmerized. Hence his nickname Maradonna. He came into power via a coup and it was a coup that ousted him to oblivion. There was great rejoicing in Nigeria on that day. However, his successor Sani Abacha was not charming and so did not enjoy public acceptance even though he was not as wicked as Babaginda.
a coup ousted Babangida?Abacha succeeded him?may be you weren't around then so check your history books

You need to read your history books. Buhari’s coup took out Shagari. Babangida’s coup took out Buhari. Abacha’s coup took out Babangida. Abacha died and we got Abdulsalam who returned Nigeria to civil rule. I know my history.

FYI, IBB was NOT removed in a coup. He voluntarily handed over power to Earnest Shonekan who was then shoved aside by Abacha.

Quite interesting but not very balanced IMO. For instance Vlad the Impaler for all of his atrocities was actually revered by much of his people who believe the barbaric acts helped prevent invasion by the Turks

8.Leopold II

Leopold II was the king of Belgium, ruling over free state between 1885 to 1908. He initiated his power by making people believe that he was going to help Congo but soon showed his real colour, proving himself to be the biggest liar in history. He killed over 50% of Congolese population, ran his regime through mercenary Force Publique (a type of military force); forced labour, and human rights violation. The labours were made to work for extraction of rubber with no or very less money. He would order to amputate arms of the workers if the quality of rubbers did not meet the standards, be it men, women, or children. To end his violent reign in 1908, the govt. of Belgium finally overthrew him restoring the power in safer hands.

Now, let us separate the chaff from the grain here in order to prevent misinformation. This article in its entirety is a bit misleading to say the least. I wonder who put it together.

At no point in history was King Leopold II, second King of Belgium from 1865-1909, "overthrown". As a matter of fact, he died as King of Belgium in 1909.

What happened in 1908 was that the Belgian parliament, upon learning about the gross abuses going on in the Congo Free State under the watch of the king simply decided to take it away from the direct control of King Leopold after which the Congo Free State came under the control of the Belgian government and was renamed Belgian Congo. As a matter of fact, Leopold was payed to relinquish control of the Congo. Now, does that sound like he was "overthrown"

In the periods preceding 1908{that's between 1885-1908}, the Congo was pretty much the presonal possession of King Leopold. But when his excesses in the region came to light, the Belgian parliament had no option but to take over the control of the Congo Free State and right after that it ceased to be the personal possession of Leopold II. It then transformed into a full colony of Belgium.

9.Talat Pasha

Talat Pasha was the grand Vizier of Sultan in Ottoman empire from 1917 to 1918. His intentions were dark and violent, as he wanted to completely annihilate Armenian race. He forced them into concentration camps killing around 1.5 millions of them. Because of him the whole male population of Angora was eradicated. To kill people he used the most inhumane ways possible like bayonets, clubs, hammer, and saw. There was no trace of mercy in him, only rage and madness. Given to his own brutality he was assassinated in 1921

Totally forgot to add that Talat Pasha's assassin was an Armenian who had lost his family in the Armenian genocide presided over by Talat.

15. Pol Pot

Pol Pot was the minister of Cambodia from 14 April 1976 to 27 September 1976, who during his reign ordered genocide, banned Buddhism, claiming their money and personal possession. He swept a vast population around 33% of the country giving in to mass evacuation and also tortured people in the ways that’s beyond human imagination like burying them alive, forcing them into labour with no food, slaved pregnant women, children, and sick people in canal in cold. His views were that teens should be made to learn to kill so that they can be good soldiers. He also banned marriages between Cambodian and Vietnamese, imprisoning those who didn’t follow. In prison they were tortured in inhumane ways like making them drink urine or their body parts being torn slowly. Pol pot died because of heart attack on 6 December 1981.

Pol Pot was Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea [as Cambodia was the known] from 1976-1979 and NOT April 1976-September 1976.

He did not leave office until a Vietnamese invasion of his country forced him out of power in 1979. By then, he had already spent nothing less than 3 years in power.

Babangida had two known coups in his regime one led by Gideon orkar nearly succeeded and orkar was executed the other being planned by mamman vatsa who was also executed. Babangida appointed Shonekan as head of interim government and stepped down leaving abacha as defence minister, abacha succeeded in toppling that government.

19.Idi Amin

Idi Amin infamously known as ‘Butcher of Uganda’ was a Chief of Army who in offered false hope of peace to people of Uganda and soon declared himself president, turning out to be a dictator . In his regime he killed masses feeding them to crocodile, abused human rights, massacred and expelled around 1 lakh Asians, and turned Uganda into a poverty stricken land. He was so overtaken by madness that he kept pics of people being killed for fun, watched them being tortured and at times forced others to eat flesh of the dead ones. He was also suspected to be a cannibal, who once mutilated one of his wives limbs, and probably fed on them. He died in 2003 because of kidney failure
good write up needs simple and understandable words for the readers what do you mean by 1 Lakh Asians .
