Supreme Court Validates Candidature of Ex Imo Deputy Speaker.

The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja this morning validated the primary process that brought in Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna as the APC candidate for Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba of Imo State

The sitting today was supposed to be a continuation of 3 appeals brought before the highest court of the land by Barr. Harrison Nwadike against the candidature of Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna.

In consequence to the drama that followed the inability of the Appellant to adequately defend their filed appeals and the preliminary objection from the respondents that the suit at the Federal High Court was commenced in disobedience to Court rules, the Supreme Court Justices led by Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour unanimously agreed that the appeals had been commenced wrongly at the Federal High Court stating that they do not have the jurisdiction to hear the appeal.

Although no fine was asked for nor any imposed, the Justices rightly noted that all parties involved in the suit had laboured in vain right from the trial court.

Speaking to members of the press after the court ruling was made public, the former Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly noted that he never lost faith in the courts knowing that at the right time the truth based on verifiable facts will eventually manifest.

The House Committee Chairman on Justice praised his wife, family, friends and supporters who prayed day and night for victory adding that he was determined more than ever to see the federal constituency gain the dividends of the democracy it craves for.
