These could be the reasons you are not making profit in poultry business

▪Pilfering; this is common in big farms with poor supervision and corrupt workers. they tend to steal eggs, chicken etc. Always monitor your farm activities

▪Feed wastage; when feed is not properly served, when the feeders are overfilled and when bad feeders are in use. Change your spoilt feeders and feed appropriately

▪improper feeding pattern; some farmers tend to over use starter or over feed their laying birds. Feeding pattern/chart is meant to be followed

▪Unnecessary use of feed additives; some farmers buy virtually every feed additives in the market because they want their birds to grow faster. Go for quality feed and spend less on additives

▪indiscriminate use of medication; unnecessary use of drugs is wrong especially when the birds are healthy. Use the right dose at the right time

▪inability to improvise/laziness; some farmers are generally lazy, they virtually buy every single thing and they find it difficult to think outside the box

▪Poor management and bio security; poor management leads to poor profit. Birds not well managed will not do well and won’t yield better profit.

▪Poor marketing strategy; most farmers don’t market their products. When they do, they market it in the same group dominated by their fellow farmers looking for buyers too. Go to other WhatsApp and Facebook groups and market your products, print flyers, take them to banks, office etc tell your friends about your products

▪Neglecting the power of bulk purchase; why buy farm inputs bit by bit when you know that bulk purchase attracts discount? Always buy what you need in bulk. If you don’t have the capital, meet other farmers and pull resources together.

▪Neglecting other poultry outputs; empty feed bags, poultry manure etc can fetch you some money. Do not neglect or throw them away

▪Having too many staff; when you have too many workers, it will automatically increase your farm expenses. Staffing should be done properly

▪Depending on middle men; what most middle men want is to get your products almost for free! If you depend on them, they will ridicule your business. Survey the market and check your cost of production before selling

▪Trying out every new technique/method ; some farmers have failed to stick to what works best for them. They keep buying every idea they come across. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try out new things but at least we need to tread with caution

▪Buying wrong inputs; some farmers don’t buy the right stuff for better profitability. They’re either buying fake or low quality products. Buying from Jofez agro will save you a whole lot of stress and increase your profit
