Former Presidential Candidate Reacts To Sowore’s Continued Detention by Drinokrane: 9:01am On Sep 27, 2019
The 2015 Presidential candidate of the KOWA Party, Prof. Oluremi Sonaiya, has asked the Department of State Service (DSS), to release a statement over the continued detention of the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore, in spite of the court ruling granting him bail and his reported compliance with the bail conditions.

Igbere TV reports that Justice Taiwo Taiwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja had on Tuesday ordered that Mr Sowore should be released from DSS custody immediately and handed over to his lawyer, Femi Falana, who is to produce him for arraignment whenever he is required.

Mr Falana, however, was unable to secure Sowore’s release on Wednesday despite the publisher of Sahara Reporters meeting his bail conditions.

In a tweet sighted on Friday, Prof. Oluremi asked if there was a reason why the DSS had not freed Sowore.

“The DSS should release a statement explaining why @YeleSowore is still being held in spite of the court ruling granting him bail and his reported compliance with the bail conditions. #RuleOfLaw @MBuhari @NGRPresident,” she wrote.

Sowore won't be released. He exceeded his boundaries. If he realizes and retraces his steps, he may be free. But not now.
