Leo has won the award on Monday. Morgan, who recently interviewed Cristiano, has taken to social media to slam the final outcome of the vote. Lineker has hit out at Piers to claim that the ‘fact he interviewed Ronaldo doesn’t make him better’.

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan was certainly disappointed with Lionel Messi winning the FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year award for 2019 on Monday. Morgan made a huge interview with Cristiano Ronaldo last week where the Portuguese revealed he ‘deserves more Ballon d’Ors than Messi’. Piers was among the first to take to social media and lament the Juventus star’s 3rd place finish behind Leo and Liverpool’s Van Dijk.

“In 2019.. One footballer won 2 domestic & 1 national titles, & became 1st to 100 wins & 125 goals in Champions League, 1st current player to 700 official goals & 1st to win Premier League, Série A & La Liga. Clue: it wasn’t Lionel Messi who just won FIFA Best Player,” he tweeted.

BBC Match of the Day presenter and former Barcelona striker Gary Lineker, in his turn, has shut Morgan down with a brilliant response.

I think Fifa and others just need to be consistent in their guidelines for the ratings.
Sometimes, players get rewarded for overall contribution to all teams' performance and ignore their individual stats.
Sometimes individual performances are rated higher.
With this inconsistency, there's bound to be grudges.
Wesley Sneidjer and Franck Ribery still felt hard done with how the awards went in their glory years. Wes didn't even land a top three nomination. Lol.
In this one too, Ronaldo had the bigger claim after his exploits for his new club and inaugural UEFA Nations finals, and Van dijk also has a close claim. Messi's exploits in this sense where not as good, although he blazes the trail on individual stats.
So, the guidelines need to be spelt out and consistent.

The greatest of all is CR7

The award is for the best individual player not the best team player. If Ronaldo were to have same stat Messi had this last season, these same people whining over Messi would say Ronaldo deserves the award. Sore losers everywhere.

What individual performance that's special did Modric does last 2 seasons and he won.(is it not team performance ?).
Fifa themselves are bias in their ratings, I've stop taking them serious.
Besides, Messi winning this award doesn't mean he's a better player than Cr7.
