Age is not just a number, but a veritable yardstick for a careful evaluation of one’s lifetime in terms of; personal achievement, comparative assessment of one’s peers and grounds for improvements.
Sadly, Nigeria has not been successful in respect of her personal goals and objectives despite her independence for 59 years. Also, in the comity of nations the 59 year post independence black nation is far away from her contemporaries.
Consequently, Nigeria has become a global reference point for vices and corruption, thus making it possible for smaller nations (in terms of human and mineral resources) to be better and more prosperous countries.
Naturally, Nigeria is blessed and has potentials for being among the world 5 great economies but her citizens have been devilling her. They (Nigerians) are the clogs in the wheels of her (Nigeria) progress and development through their corrupt practices, insincerity and religious/ethnic sentiments.
However, I sincerely wish Nigeria happy 59th independence, better and prosperous years ahead. May God bless the souls of the departed heroes, guide our leaders right and make us all factors for a better and united Nigeria Aameen.
