The figurine’ is now available on Netflix — here are all the African movies coming in October -Another Kunle Afolayan-directed movie has been added to the popular American streaming platform. The 2009 Nigerian supernatural suspense movie started streaming on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. We also take a look at other movies from Nigeria and the rest of Africa coming this month. Since announcing its plan to invest in the African film industry, Netflix has acquired “King of Boys” directed by Kemi Adetiba and several other Nigerian movies. The latest is to join the popular American streaming platform is “The Figurine (Araromire)” by Kunle Afolayan, a Nigerian actor and director. It started streaming yesterday, October 1, 2019. The 2009 suspenseful thriller tells the story of a pair of friends who have good fortune after discovering a mystical sculpture in an abandoned shrine. Their good luck continues for seven years until things start to change for the worse. It was written by Kemi Adesoye, produced and directed by Afolayan. He also plays a major role in the movie alongside Ramsey Nouah and Omoni Oboli. The Figurine was first released at the 2009 Rotterdam International Film Festival. It went on to receive ten nominations and won five awards at the 6th Africa Movie Academy Awards. It also did well in Nigerian theatres making around N30 million despite the fact that there were only a few cinemas in the country at the time. These include "Phone Swap" (2012), "October 1" (2014); "The CEO" (2016); and "The Bridge" (2017). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPa9aRwdzKs Everything African coming to Netflix in October Here are the other movies from Nigeria and the rest of Africa coming this month: “The African doctor” Starts streaming: October 8 Plot: This 2016 comedy-drama movie follows the story of a Congolese doctor who relocates with his family to a small French village where they struggle to adapt to their new life as the only black family in town. Talking about the movie, the director said, “In doing the Bling Lagosians, I observed certain things in our society and I decided to tell the story, a relatable story, that people would see and recognise this is the real us. This story is like a mirror, so we can look at ourselves in a mirror and see the flaws. This is a story of deceit, lust, love, greed, passion, it’s a story of excess’ but with redeeming qualities.” It features big stars like Mona Lisa Chinda, Alex Ekubo, Jide Kosoko, Toyin Abraham and former Big Brother housemates, Bisola and Bambam. At N120 million, it is the ninth highest-grossing Nigerian film of all time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6BC73kxoTY https://www.pulse.ng/bi/lifestyle/the-figurine-is-now-available-on-netflix-here-are-all-the-african-movies-coming-in/k6x16b2 1 Like 1 Share

That's meaningless! very soon papa ajasco will disturb Netflix to air their series simply because they feel insecure about an Igbo WOMAN'S achievement. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Figurine is a very amazing movie, the creativity is superb. Big kudos to the author he has been doing an amazing job, writing our country in the golden pen of great authors of our time. Meanwhile it is my prayer that one day I will get there With my inspirational book "Guilty Pleasure" which sold over 500 copies in a month And the blockbuster novel "FATE" which will be out by December 12 Likes 2 Shares
