In the recent England Squad been realesed by Gareth Southgate, it has been noticed that the three lions coach called up four young chelsea starlet in the persons of Tammy Abraham (striker) Mason Mount (midfielder) Ross Barkley (midfielder) Fikayo Tomori (center back) to represent the three lions in the upcoming Euro qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
According to Frank Lampard the pensioners coach, he feels happy and delighted that kids had a called up, it shows that what we are doing here is a massive project and people out there are believing in it.
WHAT SOUTHGATE HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE CALL UP
Gareth Southgate on Fikayo Tomori: "His profile as a defender fits with how international football is, he's capable with the ball. It's an opportunity to have a closer look at him in training with our group and he'll be feeling confident about himself. He's been in good form with Chelsea in big games against big opposition."
Gareth Southgate on Tammy Abraham: "It was a fairly easy decision as he's the leading English goalscorer in the league.
"We put him into the squad very young, when we were changing the complexion of what we were doing. That was a bit early for him but because of the opportunity given to him by Frank Lampard at Chelsea, we've brought him back in.
"This is now a great chance for Tammy. He's always scored goals for our junior teams, he's done that in the Championships and now he's grasped his opportunity at the beginning of this season.
'Too early for Hudson-Odoi' - Southgate
Gareth Southgate on Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was not selected after his recent return from an Achilles injury: "Callum's just back from a long-term injury, I had a good chat with Frank [Lampard] and we agreed it's a bit early for the seniors. Without stealing [England Under-21 coach] Aidy Boothroyd's thunder, there's an under-21 squad announced tomorrow."
They're in on merit' - Southgate
Tammy Abraham said on Wednesday that he was not decided on his international future. He is still eligible for Nigeria having only played in two friendlies for England.
England boss Gareth Southgate: "It's not ethically right to give someone a cap just so they can't play for someone else.
"He and Fikayo Tomori are both in on merit and have been part of our junior system right the way through, so we see them as English players and they have a huge desire to play for England at senior level."
