So I have a friend that is into business and he is experiencing some problems.
So he use to sell goods to some of his clients that export.
Now they had an agreement for them to be buying a certain quantity of goods in a stipulated time(target) from him in return for him not to sell in the same market as them like before,since he has a lot of price advantage as he is the direct distributor,so that he doesn't spoil market for them.
But now these group of individuals started cheating my friend,not.meeting up their targets purposely and use my friends credit to play,not pay in time and purchase goods from other outlets.
Now just last 2 months,they did not patronize my friend for good 3weeks upon the fact that they owe him a lot of money,which made my friend angry and he decided to go to that same market to sell and cancel every arrangements with everybody.
Now friend has the capacity to even sell 10% less than what they sell,hence spoiling market for them.
So they found out,gang up and are now threatening to kill my friend or wreck his business.
The business is export based so they are threatening to attack my friend's goods at sea with pirates,or kill my friend whenever he steps foot in Nigeria.
So my friend has been thinking;
-Does he attack first,acting on their threats and start harming everyone so as to send a clear message to everyone that he too can be dangerous?
But the problem here is,what if he is underestimating them and they are a deadly force?won't they be bent on killing him if they see that he too wants to use force?
-Does he go to the police?But how does the local police help since it is a crime between 2 countries?
-Does he go to make peace with them?
But what stops them from killing him when he gets there?
Like to send assassins to trail him from there,know all about him and still kill him?
He is thinking of going to the meeting with armed escorts but is that good?will he be just over reacting?

He told me of this issue and I don't know what to do so I decided to bring it here.
Also,the clients in that country they sell to have found out some of these issues he is having and are trying to take advantage of it and not pay his money too.
His business and life is really at stake,what do you think he should do?

I like the way you think.
I think what's best he does is attack first and put serious fear in them too.
Then he starts issuing threats too.Then they will be on the defensive running to protect their tails too.
Also bringing any of the clients over to share responsibilities will be good for him short term,but will fall out too in the long run and worse.
The clients there who knew nothing about sourcing will start having options asides him,may not even patronize him in the long run and will start taking his brothers to Nigeria too.
Then my friend won't only be in soup with these guys but with the whole Nigerian cartel plying that route for exposing their business to strangers.
And that will mean a lot of heat.

Let's say he succeeds in getting the police,lawyer and secure an invite with them and the police.
Will they be held responsible if something mysterious happens to me or my goods?
Atleast the fear of that will make them adjust right?
Also,won't the police ask for evidence that I don't have?

I think he was just scared and wanted to make them confused by initializing the violence before them.
Yeah it wasn't documented from my thoughts too,even though that can't help as there is no evidence yet on the death threats.

Yes. If anything happens to you or your friend or the goods then they would be arrested. Just make sure you have a proof of their threats to life and business and then go straight to the police so that it is on record. On no circumstance should you mention to the police that you smugg... though . Make sure your settle the police and even some MoPo or soldiers so that they terrify them very well.

Also ensure you get some security to protect you. This business is not easy that you are in. It attracts a lot of criminal elements who will hijack it to traffic all sorts. That’s if they can not force you to let them use your company first. Stay safe and unpredictable in your movements for now.

@baby124,according to him,on the day the goods were to leave Nigeria,one of them(the most hot headed) saw his truck loading in his warehouse in Aba heading for the jetty and confronted him and was asking authoritatively.who owns the goods?just imagine.
So he was able to manoeuvre his way out of that one with words but the guy insisted he must find out and sat in my warehouse waiting for whoever who come claim the goods.
So he said when he saw no one was coming,he went and called the others and started laying allegations on him that he has started bringing their clientele to Nigeria just so he could sell to them directly and make more money.
They debated until they were able to conclude it wasn't a foreigner that bought it but still wanted to know who got it.
That's when they said if they find out he is playing games,either they will kill him or the goods won't cross(unto piracy activities).that he doesn't joke with where he eats bla bla bla....
It was a Saturday and the goods were to be loaded on a vessel on Tuesday and they were saying they will still be investigating.
That's when my friend changed all his programs and loaded the goods in the vessel on a Sunday instead of Tuesday and was able to escape without them even knowing.
Now it was when he got to the other country that word got out that there is someone that brought a lot of goods and was selling below price and everyone knew it was him.
So my friend was in one of his clients office collecting money when their counterparts there traced him to the place and started attacking him with words and threats and weren't civil at all.
So my friend left them after shouting back at them and left the town and moved to another town way out of their reach.
They were even saying that the only way there can be peace is if my friend gathers all the money he discounted from those clients and pay it back to their cartel,that's when they'll leave him and that'll be a lot of.money going by the volume and percentage discount,it's running into a lot of millions.
Why would my friend do that?
And my.friend is someone who does not succumb to threats since he believes he can fight anybody back.
His fear is just Nigeria.If he can have enough evidence and contain them in Nigeria by show of superior force,that's it since they can do nothing to him in the other country because he is well connected there.
But Nigeria is just lawless and anything can happen,that's why he is even afraid of coming back until he devises a plan.

I personally will keep trading at an alarming volume till I run them out of business. I will also make sure my customers do not do business with them. As long as I can use trusted people in my absence to carry it out. When I run them down completely, then I pick them all up and make sure they spend quality time in jail for the threats. With police force. That is the only way you secure your territory and get your supply chain fully under your control.
