Mary woke up very early one morning. After observing her devotion, she rushed to the kitchen to make food before going to work. She spent hours in the kitchen preparing the sumptuous meal.

Afterwards, she headed to the bathroom and then dressed up for work. Before going to work she had her breakfast and also served her sisters. She also decided to package the food in a food flask for a colleague/friend of hers at work.

On getting to work, she gave the food to her colleague and it was received with so much joy and thanksgiving. At the close of work, she forgot to collect the food flask and the colleague also forgot to return it. Days passed by and the food flask wasn't returned.

After a day or so, the food flask was found. Mary took it home to wash. Immediately she opened it, foul and disgusting smell filled the kitchen. The food flask had little remnant of the food Mary had made the previous day(s) and as such, there was already growth of microbes on the remnant of the food. It was a horrible sight. Mary was a little bit upset with her friend for not returning the food flask in good time and herself too for not remembering to ask or collect it.
With this experience, I observed that the food become rotten, bad and disgusting because it wasn't exposed to air, light, the right temperature among other things. Instead it was exposed to bacteria, enzymes, micro organisms, etc. and this forced me to ask the question "how exposed is your life to God?". A life that is not exposed to God becomes rotten, smelly, bad, disgusting, and definitely has the growth of spiritual microbes.
Some of us are good with exposing a part of our life to God and shielding the other parts from Him with the illusion that we can handle handle it ourselves. Its a lie, we can handle nothing by ourselves. Expose it all.
The truth is that there is no sitting on the fence. If your life is not exposed to God, it is definitely exposed to something else. Something opposite. Expose your life to God and not to something else.

The same way Mary was not too happy about her friend not returning the food flask is the same way God is not happy with us for not releasing our lives to Him. If Mary's friend had opened the food flask, it wouldn't have been that bad. So also if we open our lives to God, our lives can't be bad.
Expose your life to Him. He is the one that can help. What areas of your life have you kept away? It is not too late to expose it.

Yes, when the food flask was opened it had a disgusting smell and all but it lasted for minutes because Mary cleaned it. God is also in the business of cleaning our lives. It doesn't matter how bad we think we are, it doesn't matter how smelly or disgusting we think we are, He is ever ready to make us clean. All we need do is expose our lives to Him.

"Expose your unworthiness to experience His acceptance, expose your loneliness to experience His presence, expose your weakness to experience His power and strength, expose your brokenness to experience God's healing, expose your poverty to experience His wealth and riches, expose your confinement and captivity to experience His freedom, expose your blind spots to experience God's view of you, expose your limitations to get God's possibilities, expose your sins to experience His forgiveness and mercy, expose your exhaustion to enter His rest, expose your vulnerabilities to enjoy His protection, expose your need to experience His provision, expose your invisibility to enjoy His eyes on you, expose your pain to enjoy His comfort".
Expose your life to experience His life
Don't hide, don't become a rotten food, don't become a bad food, don't become a smelly food. Expose your rotten state, He is ready to make you clean. He is in the business of making lives clean. Don't hide any aspect, expose it all, expose it totally, expose it completely.
He makes all things beautiful and your life is not an exemption It is ready to make is beautiful beyond imagination. All you need do is surrender to Him.
